Can not join MP games

When I try to to play avatar quest in Shogun total war 2 it will not let me join a game on the battle list. It says that my game differs from the host game and it will not let me join. I have reinstalled the game twice now and still will not let me join. I have verified the cache as well and still will not let me join. The version I have is v1.1.0 5086.353015 (modded) even though I have not installed any mods after the reinstall. Any advice will be greatly appreciated on how to fix this problem.

Could it be that , perhaps they did not allow your version of the game on the games you treid to join? They can specify if they allow regular game or fall of samuri to join their games in host options. If that is not the case please elaborate.

As far as I can tell this is not the case. Every game on the battle list is in red which means that it differs from the version I have. I would think there would be at least one or two games I could join if that were the case however like I said I am unable to join any of the games.

Do you have any mods installed? It's been known to ruin MP matches in the past.

irishron - No as far as I can tell. I reinstalled the game and after the reinstall have not modded the game at all. Before the reinstall and before the steam workshop came out I had changed the game so I could recruit loan sword ashigaru in orginal campaign mode. However I do not know how that would still be an issue due to the fact that I have reinstalled the game and also because I was able to play MP games for a while after I had made the change. If it helps I had not played a MP game for a month or two prior to trying to play a game the other day. Is there a DLC that I am missing or something?

Have you installed TEd and the other tools? Maybe this is hanging things up now.

Hey I figured it out. I guess the data file that I had because of the loan sword ashigaru somehow was still there after the reinstall. Once I deleted the file I am now able to join MP battles again. I wanted to update you guys and also thank you very much for your advice. I really apprectiate the help.
