CTD? 229 bc!

im currently not playing on DM v8. im playing on the one just before it. i was thinking that once i finish off my campaign, i would upgrade. i am just about to start a very exciting civil war, but the game keeps crashing to desktop. y?

i tried loading from my save and changing some stuff but again, it crashed. any help?

maybe this helps:
- shut off auto save
- delete map.rwm
- restart game
- manually save from time to time (do not use ctrl S)

the power of the dark side is indeed very strong. i have never played the game this long. its the first time ever i get to year 229bc. everytime i usually finish the game around 240, or max 230ish even on VH/VH. what u have achieved is GREAT and WONDERFUL!

i look forward to finishing off my campaign and moving on to the next version.

i managed to continue from another save since i keep 10 saves, all done manually just in case. im a cautious guy. i started panicking cuz 3-4 of my saves all crashed at the same year. but anyway, i managed to continue, but the weird thing is that it now crashes every few turns if i play continuous. maybe thats computers way of telling me i have been playing long enough and should stop.

anywya, will put up with it till i finish off my fellow romans.

im sad, very sad, very very sad.
was having a very good game on the last version of DM. the only things i changed during the campaign was to add the law bonus for academies and also to change the corruption limit from 50,000 dinaris.

but then after a few turns (not sure if related or not) i started having CTDs. i managed to continue playing by having lots and lots of saves and keep trying and restarting, but it just got worse and worse until every turn i would get it at least once.

and now i tried many of my saves and it just doesnt work anymore. i have given up hope. was really looking forward to continuing that campaign. now im uninstalling everything and trying to get a new clean install of DM v8.

in my game i was the julii with just under 40 cities. was gonna go after carthage who owing his half of north africa plus the islands around had a bigger army than me. then brtuii who owned all of greece and were extremely rich. but the biggest challenge would have been the seleucids who owned all of middle east, half of africa and were starting to go into thrace.

DAMN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it would have been a clash of titans. this never happened in normal RTW.
