Alright, I've been learning a lot for this project! This time, I've got a an experiment to show you all and get opinions on; I've attempted to create a higher resolution texture. 1080HD about 3x the size!

This is my first foray into photoshop territory so constructive criticism would be nice.

This is a great companion to HTW, I wish you the best in making it. It'll be cool to see the world of HTW from a personal perspective.

I prefer the A version. The colours seem to be darker and they fit together better. The metal texture seems nicer too, though B is better in that respect in some places.

    I like B. It's not as contrast-heavy as A.

Thanks a lot, DarkInterloper, I thought so too.

I may go with B, you can always use something like ENB to make the game have more contrast or deeper shadows. But there's no way to do the reverse. The metal texture is the same for both, so you could get the same effect. Otherwise, I've darkened the "bolts" a bit so they don't stand out quite as much, like in those pictures. I could also try again on the colouring, making the colours darker than B but less contrast heavy than A?

Definitely B. The brightness and contrast are just right.

Thanks I'll use it as a reference for the many textures to come.

I would rather you put all the models/textures in game before you make HD versions of them all.
But I'm Biased for a sooner play test version release.

I didn't mean I was only going work on textures, I can't really focus on one task for long. The whole thing will most likely come together gradually, as I jump from planning to porting to coding to creating and etc.

Honestly, now that I know how to do it, the new textures won't take much extra work anyway. Some really need it too, Horon for example.

That being said, a dirty custom battle alpha is still on the horizon.

Nice. quick and easy. And I agree that some need it.

So what would be the ETA for a plausible version of this? (as in not complete but definitely playable to the extent that Hyrule Total War is)

Seriously though, I haven't a clue. This is my first full-scale mod project. It's months away at the very least. The good news is that Mount&Blade is infinitely more stable than Medieval 2, so bug fixing will only be a small portion of the time taken.

Your only post is a mod release date question and that just cracks me up...

Sorry about the lack of updates people, I've been sick and my PC is a BSOD-ing mess. Here's a small (but painstaking) update:

Ironclad Elites? I don't think they are Castle Guards. These guys have too much armor for that and they have a crest.

Hahaha, you gotta start posting somehow

In all seriousness I appreciate the response, the Ironclad are looking great by the way

Eldren: It's just a preview of the armor in-game. They won't have that shield or spear either.

XVM Dragon: Thanks, I didn't mean anything by it

Edit:Does anyone know if this shield is in the game files yet?

I definitely have not seen it in game, but am unsure if it is in the files. My guess however, is probably not since the most recent upload of HTW was before he released the guides containing the shield design

Thanks, I appreciate the tip. I'm super excited for the next release with so many beautiful new models.

I'm still working on this while I wait for HTW duties to come in, and the search for that shield got me on the subject. So here's some remixes for variety, I'd love suggestions for improvement.:

3 Variations of a "New" Hylian shield. (Non-military issue atm):

I like them, though I do have a few suggestions for the Horon Shield design,
Maybe vary up the shield shape. I feel like something rounder would suit them better. Also for the material, a kind of wood, reinforced with some metal would look good for them. The metal reinforcements could be shaped like how you have it at the moment, or you could use an edited version of their current faction icon,
    Hope this helps
