    Default USA activity.

Before I say anything I want to point out that I am not putting all my eggs in the American basket. As an American I would love to see and play out an American campaign (dont know how it will be possible as they would have to be an emergent faction) even though our role in WW1 was small compared to say our role in WW2 but It would be fun to help support French lines and help make that final push that ended the war. Dont get me wrong, I will likely start this game as Germany, Russia or the Trurks, Ottomans, but an American game would add a fun dynamic to the game.

Heavily support what you guys are doing with this mod, you blew my mind with 4.6 and played each campaign till the inevitable CTD that I could never recover from.

Maybe in the future. As of now we don't have a solution. We can't edit the campaign map so we can't add the USA in as its own faction without giving it a pre-existing territory like Normandy. The thing is, we don't want to do that because then the French faction has less territory. They will be incorporated as a "mercenary" faction. Whoever has the best relations with them can recruit their soldiers. Things may change in the future.
Every time they invent a new fool-proof solution, someone gives birth to a better fool.

I believe there is a system of "securing the Americans support" in the game. like a technology or something that is only attainable through strong relations with the US, therefore the technology allows you to recruit new US units. Personally I think that is the best way to do it because it is balanced and either side can take advantage, albeit the Germans will have less strong relations than the British or French, but it still can be done .

Even that would be unbalanced unfortunately. If the Germans managed to secure the Americans support, the Americans would be surrounded by the French and blockaded by the British. This would Diminish their presence significantly. Plus how would they fund an army with a single insignificant province? I think the system that they are implementing is the most balanced and the best.

Does that WWI mod for Empire include the others theatres, or just Europe/Middle east? Because if it did then you could probably play as the US there (one of TGW guys said he was gonna import some of the models into Empire once TGW 5.0 is out I think)

It's quite a funny situation with that mod compared to TGW. That mod has all the models and animations etc etc, but has no working representative campaign, while this mod has the campaign but no models (until 5.0 of course).

That will likely change after the release of 5.0

It'd be pretty cool to play an Empire WWI as the US. I'd chose to support Germany and Conquer Canada

True, but then there's no chance at all of totally saying "f you" to history and conquering Europe for America!

In lieu of the OP request for the US, i put forward a request for the ANZAC forces to be included, which is far more plausible because they actually fought for the duration of the war.

Nein. Discussion over the value of United States involvement is no longer allowed.

The ANZACs will be represented like all other foreign nations: as units recruitable by on-map players, with the partial exception of the United States.

Why does the US get special treatment you may ask. For the same reason we hope to simulate the Soviet Union and the Russian Civil War rather than any other internal conflict in Europe. Because they offer a significant late-game upheaval, like the Mongols in M2TW, and because we are making a mod, not a game, and we have both limited flexibility and limited resources.

Why do you say only partial exception? Because as it stands, we do not plan to simulate them as a faction separate from the European nation that solicits their support. We do plan to grant them a full roster.

Any chance that this means you'll give them their own faction that could perchance be modded in to having its own land?

Yep, could be done very easily. Just adding an unused faction to the campaign map, some text/flag changes, and then assigning them the already existent units.

Now if you want reinforcing armies, that's a different story, but also possible.

EDIT: Oh, and some diplomacy changes, but that's still pretty basic startpos editing.
