To the Hegemonia Total War Team-

I have spent quite a while looking around through all your forums and sites, checking out info on the factions and maps, and pretty much all you have to offer with regard to this mod. I'm sure I speak for many when I say that I'm eagerly looking forward to it, and all of you appear to be doing an incredible job. I started this thread just to thank you guys, and provide a forum for others who may want to show their appreciation as well. Again, thank you all for helping to create what I see will be an incredible mod, and good luck on its completion.

The moment I saw what the team had done with Syracusa and other areas of Magna Graecia, I couldn't help but to smile. The effort, the work the whole inspiration and collective input it must have taken to get this project so far must have been absolutely massive. Since, believe me, it really shows. From the fine balance between hyperhistoricality and great looks, and from the lovely period of choice to art direction, this mod provides. And you didn't even stumble on Spartacentricality. That's uncanny from a Hellen mod.

I have nothing but praise.

Well they will still have axcess to all the Greek style psiloi also they will have acess to the Italian troop types.

As for the Sikanians if you have images that would help i will rexamine the unit

1. That's good to hear. I'm not so sure how you are doing the whole, and I'm sorry if you have different nomer for this, AoR system. I didn't see any Italic units in the Taras/Croton preview and was curious.

Well realize we have alot of hoplites from alot of cities and alot of other units to portray as well, so we can't get too bogged down with multiple units. We originally had multiples for some of the more important non-faction cities (ie Megara had Megareis Hoplitai and Megareis Epibatai) but cut all the doubles for space. The only cities you'll see with multiple levels of unit quality now are the faction capitals (ie Sparta has its homoloi and hippeis, regular and elite, athens has its athenaoi hoplitai and Logades, regular and elite, but a city like Megara, which starts in rebel hands has only one hoplite or special unit), but all major cities both rebel and faction controlled at the start have hoplites or special units and many more off map units and units from less major areas (like corsica or sardinia, phrygia or bithynia, Propontis on map, then Egypt, Phoenicia, Ethiopia, Iberia, Baliares, Libya, Scythia etc off map) are also all recruitable. All bring units and some bring additional ship units etc (like phoenicia, egypt... you get it I'm sure).

All the italian units were previewed with Carthage because they were ready at the same time and the Italians were important mercenaries in their armies. Count on all the italian units recruitable by taras and croton as well as the Italoi Symmachoi hoplitai previewed with those factions for their auxillaries.
