Maybe not a pc, but still some tech help

Gentlemen of the basement, I dont come here for any help on my computer. Fortunately it works fine.

Instead, I think this is the best place to ask for help on my playstation.

The situation is simple. I left it on overnight whilst on the main menu of a game. The television itself was off, only the console was running. I forgot to turn it off.

This morning I realized I had left it on. I thought that wasnt a problem but when I saw, it appears all the colors have gotten much darker and low contrast. I made sure it wasnt the TV, I saw if it was just the brightness of the console, and checked many things multiple times. Nothing worked. So I'm thinking of a hard reset to see if that helps, but not before I ask you guys.

Is there anything else I can do to revert back to its original colors? Its not the theme or background. The actual icons and color of the games I play have been affected.

And if I must do a hard reset, how do I save some of the games/progress I have made on them and back them up?

Which iteration of Playstation?

Have you checked the connection to the TV? Disconnect and reconnect it, at both ends.

Done. It was a connection that was coming loose but appeared stable. Thanks for the quick reply and help magic.
