Q1; How or where do I find files to edit the availability of mercenary pool?
Q2; And how can I change what armies are spawned, how many, and where -when a city revolts?
Thank you very much.
PS; It is not much but there is a REP in it for help.

Make a backup prior to changing anything.
Depends mainly on the level of barracks in the city. The higher the level, the better the quality of spawned troops will be. This does not affect rebel towns.
So, raze barracks and only Slaves will spawn after a rebellion.

Thanks again, sadly I have to spread the REP around first
PS the replenish rate is the higher number the quicker you can recruit more? and also what is maximum number of you can recruit. I notice most are 2-4.
Thank you again

The first value is the lowest replenish rate, the second one is the upper limit. The first can't be above the second. If you set them to 1.000 - 1.001 you will have a new unit every turn until the maximum is reached.Code:replenish 0.030 - 0.040
This was a decision influenced by historical accuracy and game balance.
Whatever the replenish rate is, you can't have more than 2 regiments recruit-able while zero are available at the start. I don't recall any maximum.Code:max 2 initial 0

Just wanted to encourage Ptolemies and Kart Hadast to recruit useful mercs
To add to what I already asked, would anyone know how I could script a Maccabees revolt- just a few stacks spawned every few years. Consisting of a few decent infantry and skirmishers- massive morale bonus. Just to make my Seleukid campaigns interesting and challenging.
Thank you

interesting idea. although the maccabes rebellions didn't start until like 160 BC so you will have a relatively powerful empire by then and can sweep them aside quite easily.
Plus you will be facing the yueszhi hordes at roughly the same time as the rebellion at the far ends of your empire which imo are the bigger threat since they are actually scripted to kick out your garrison and when that happens for some reason my campaign gets a weird bug which switches all my cities to ai management

Yes, I like a challenge
And besides I play to my own rules, I don't expand ahistorically, and I don't have loads of stacks everywhere, just the strategos' local satrap forces and a royal army led by the Basileus

I was quite partial to the cataphract elephants in my ill-fated Seleucid campaign, but I will have to go with the Drwdae/ Druids. I love morale buffers/ debuffers, and they are some of the absolute best.
So long as you have a solid line of infantry to protect them, you can just put them in loose formation and run them around the battlefield, chanting wherever fighting is the thickest, and proceed to watch the army break and run. It's particularly fun to set up a line thick with skirmishers and spear-throwers, supported by flaming arrows, turn on fire at will, and watch the enemy break before they ever cross swords with your guys. Then just run them down to your heart's content. So classy.
First post welcome.
I imagine you intended to post this in 'favourite unit' thread though
have some welcome REP
Woah! I certainly did mean to post it there. You saw nothing...and thanks for the welcome!
I have another question, if anybody knows the answer be grateful... What is the Anabasis script 8e (EBBS-SCRIPT) ? Just wondering what it does and means? Again wonder if I can play with things to make things more interesting for me. Thanks again

If player's Seleikids have conquered the Parthia and the Baktria, just as the Antiochos III; then, the player's faction leader will get this Anabasis trait and receive attribute bonus.

Thank you for your answer +REP
Except Antiochos III didn't conquer them did he, just forced them to acknowledge his suzerainty - hence Megas Basileuis, Great king.
