| To Hobbiton |
After the Battle of Whitfurrows, all were sleeping peacefully, except Aragorn. Though he had won, he couldn't help thinking what should be the next step of the expedition. Even if he had already sent his spy to Hobbiton, the road toward Michel Delving was more tempting, as the leader of the bandits should be there. But, wouldn't it be too risky to go so deeply in an enemy area ? The enemy could set several ambushes and decimate his forces. No, it seemed that Hobbiton was still the better choice. The village was closer and had no fortifcations, therefore it would be easy to take it. Furthermore, Aragorn could get more informations about his enemy there. So be it, tomorrow, the expedition will go to Hobbiton and take the village quickly. Once the village is taken, the army should take a good rest and then march toward Michel Delving. It was the cautious decision, the biggest fault in war is rashness. On his desk, there was a report from the bailiff, he hadn't refered to it yet. He read that the stock of grain was almost exhausted. This information upset him :
"The situation is quite perfect : I'm lost in the enemy territory, my grain is almost exhausted and if I want to pursue my offensive I have to set several sieges. What brought me in such situation ? Firstly : the mayor who gave me his weakest men... but his ridiculous plot failed as his men are not as weak as he thought. Secondly : the fact that I have not enough grain. The one who was supposed to supply me is also ... the mayor. I think that I hate this man. After our meeting, this villain must have prepared his conspiracy for several days. What a stupid management ! Either I'm defeated with his men, or I must withdraw due to my lack of supplies but he didn't think that somehow if I'm defeated, he is as loser as me. Well, I won't withdraw ashamed, I will carry on ! My decision is strenghtened by this revealing. We shall overcome, or we shall die !"
Aragorn stopped his thought and went confident to his bed...
Late in the morning, the army was gathered and went northward. Soon, they reached Hobiton and prepared themselves to fight, if the enemy was bold enough to come...

| The Hundreds Spines battle |
The army waited in front of the entry of the bridge, near the Green Dragon. On the other side of the water, there was nothing. The place was quiete, but the buildings seemed damaged. The walls were blackened, as if someone had lit a fire there. The bandits may have plundered the village and killed or frightened the inhabitants. Hobbiton wasn't a village anymore. It was a desolated and sad place. Suddenly, a consequent company of Hobbits went out of a great building, led by a man dressed in black. They mostly handled bows and seemed trained, some had hand-to-hand weapons. All marched forward without hesitation and were spoiling for a fight...
The sky was blue, the water tranquil, the wind light and cool. Aragorn knew that the most violent fights usually take place in the most peaceful places. Aragorn placed the Boar Company on the highground behind the Green Dragon, while he remained front with the Grey Company. They were perfectly placed to release their arrows over the bridge as it seemed that the enemy wanted to cross the water there. Then, Aragorn decied to speak to his men as he felt that the fight would be harsh :
-"Men of the Boar Company ! Dunedain ! Brothers-in-arms ! Too much time we stayed inactive and now, have a look at Hobbiton ! This village was once full of laughters and delight. However, now, it's a desolated place and the inahabitants who haven't been killed yet remained shut up in their houses, fearing for their lives. Those who invaded this land are more than bandits, they are above all murderers. Imagine Breeland devasted by this kind of villains, it would be horrible I guess. The better way to protect your homes is to kill those who threaten them. And those who threaten them are here ! We must fight them, overcome them, and only then return in our homes ! We will show to the defenseless Hobbits that the inhabitants of Eriador are able to be united to protect their homes. We will give back hope to these oppressed people and send a message of fear to our opponents. To battle ! Victory isn't an option but the only way to end here !"
-Victory ! Victory ! For our Captain and Eriador !! responded the soldiers
