Should I Buy It Again?

This might be a bit hitorical coming from an TW forum but I bought rome total war like a year ago and played it like twice, i didnt get very far maybe finished the first walk through battle where you kill those Guals? i think, by going over a bridge and helping the guys in Purple? and I tried playing a few quick skirmishes. But I think that was about it because right after I got rome total war I bought World of Warcraft and got hooked on that like crack on a stick. Now that im done with WoW, I cant find my Rome cd 3, I totally cleaned out my room, took everything out literly unpacked everything in boxes shelves droors ect, and its not there. So my question to you guys is, do you think I should buy the whole game again because I lost the 3rd cd. Its sort of a downer only played it a few times.


As a side note... question... whats the max ammount of armies you can fight with in your war mode.

ehhh I guess I could look around on ebay, but last time I bought something from ebay I lost 120 bucks and the guy got banned right after I did Buy Now. Was an Xbox.

welcome to the TWC forums! yes buy RTW again. ive heard somebody played a battle with 60000 men. RTW is a great game and if you couldnt finish the prolouge, you have MUCH to unravel of RTW. many features. and if you get bored, get a mod.

hmmm, I guess Ill just have an extra cd key then Ill see how much it is at walmart, maybe just go ahead and get that expansion maybe too? Now that I think about it, I actually did play the campaign thing but I like lost died or ran outta money in the first 10 minutes and never did the campaign after that lol.

Hmm, to get 60,000 men did he have to modify some file or is there no limit? In the skirmish mode it wouldnt let you past like 1500-2000 men if I remember right.

Also anohter thing are there such a thing as navy wars? I dont think i got as far as to make a boat, but is there like battles in the sea like there are on land?

Well, if you do get the gold pack with Barbarian Invasion included...personally I think you should just wait until October for M2TW..

In order to have 60,000 men on the field, you need to have a really beefed up PC. In the custom battle menus, you can add a lot of armies for one battle but the game will tell you when your PC can't handle anymore men without lag. There are no navy battles the way we want it. The ships are just strat map models on the campaign map and when you attack an enemy fleet/ship, the battle is just auto calculated.

hmm I think ill just see if i can get rtw gold or something, im sick of wc3 and I cant play any first person shooters I have cuz I have dial up atm. UGH! Maybe this will last me till November with all the mods and all.

yes the pre RTW games use 2D pixels. but its worth it different campaigns espicially MTW. MTW will give you one of the most fun MP experences. the AI is fantastic too. MTW can make you a pro before playing RTW.

Is "Wallmart" the same as woolies, (woolworths) over here? And yes RTW is worth getting, although if you have a good enough PC, get MTW2 when it comes out otherwise it seemes you will forget RTW again and move onto that!!

Anyway, ill have to decide by tomorrow if I want the era one or just buy the gold edition, while the era edition is a good deal, I probably wont ever play any of the 2d ones sad to say. But on one side, it does have 3 THREE! rtw expansions right? That beats gold edition, and there is no platnium yet, which is 3 expansions for any game right?
