Default Saving your DLC's on a Disk

    Hey guys.

As I have bought the Shogun 2 Limited Edition back then, I'll have a DVD Copy, not downloaded it via Steam.

However, I bought some DLC's too over the time, and I hate the fact, I don't have a copy on a Disk. I'm not a big fan of this "buy online and get nothing to hold it in your hands". I would like to have all the updates and my purchased DLC's on a Disk and be able to install it after Steam hopefully dies out some day not just the vanilla game but all the content I've payed for.

I know there is some way to burn the whole game on a disk but I would like to know if its possible to just burn the DLC's and updates.

    Thanks in advance.

You only have the options to burn the full game as of the latest patch + all the DLC (even if you don't have them). I think Shogun 2 now needs 3 or 4 DVD if I'm not mistaken. I did not burn the back up to DVD though. Just made the back up on another hard disk.

You can however manually copy all the patches.pack files in Shogun2/data and burn it into disks.

why bother burning it at all? if ur disk gets scratched/breaks you can still just download it from steam?

how are you going to burn 30 gigs anyway ? Seems to much of a hassle, steam offers the backup function to make a backup that you can then burn to a disk or other HD , check your steam settings.

LestaT: Ok thanks, i know about the option to backup the whole game. But because its 30gb, i wished i could just backup the DLC's alone (+the ~10gb of patches). Thanks about the Hint to copy the patches alone, i guess the DLC's are within there.

Adreno: Normally, my disks doesnt get scratched or even break. I have some 15 year old in best shape, like new And IF it would happen, it would be my fault, not the fault of Steam. But when something goes wrong with steam and i loose all my stuff, its their fault, you know what I mean?

Pesticide: Thank you too. You can burn 30gb easily if partened with winrar and burn on dvd/blueray. Thats not the problem
