Their wagonburg tactics are legendary. And the one-eyed Jan Zizka should be a 9 star general on birth!(never lost a single battle in his life)

Already a thread on generals who appeared in real life.Originally Posted by warblah
As soon as a TW game starts you have changed history, NO general from real life should automaticaly show up and start wtfpwning everything in sight.
That includes Joan of arc, william braveheartmyass wallace, edward longshanks, gengis khan etc....
I don't see why they shouldn't do it like in MTW1. They shouldn't be all be Alexander the Great, but they should be pretty decent. There's a reason they're in the history books.

If im playing the game as the scots and William wallace shows up Automaticaly even though ive conquered the english and irish and im half way through the french then im gonna be wondering why the hell i bought the game.
From the very moment you click "end turn" history has changed, not a single historical character should be pre determined especialy the ones people keep moaning about.
If you want historical figures to show up at the pre determined points in the game then why not just have the battles take place at the pre determined times? why not have the countries gain or loose land at pre determined times? hell while we are at it lets just make it so that all the buildings and tech and soldiers arrive at pre determined times!
If im playing the game and i get a general that emerges that rivals the great historical figures in history then i would love it, since its random and that character is essentialy my creation.
But if im playing the game and wham Joan of arc, Bruce, and wallace all show up then im just gonna be like... "meh had this last game... and the game before that... and the game before that game... etc..)
Well, you still rewrite history, even if some historical character pops up. El Cid is probably in the game from the start (he was in MTW1) and you can use him in whatever way you like. Hell, you can go conquer Europe with him, so you are rewriting history.
Besides, saying that there should be no historical characters is like saying there shouldn't be a Black Plague, or Children's Crusade or any other event that happened in Medieval times, just because we're rewriting history. I would rather have a black plague all over Europe because it's historical, than not having a plague at all because I feel I have to rewrite history.

The black plague should be triggered by certain events and so should the Childrens crusade IMO.
I like that idea of it being triggered by certain events, kind of like how the Romano British/Visigoths turned up in BI.
Im divided on the historical characters though, like stated earlier, i like building up my own characters to become great generals, rather than have a historical figure pop up and have them pre made. On the other hand having them in the game would add a bit of atmosphere.
In the end i think i liked RTW/BI way of having some historical figures in the Retinues appear randomly, but have all Generals being character moulded
To Actually answer your question, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but there is no Czech faction. No Hussites, no baltic crusades, no biggest knight battle, no architectural wonders of the medieval world, no influence on learning and religion impacting all Europe, no King of Gold and Steel, the Blind King, the Saint King, nor King Wenceslas, or King Charles. Apparently, when you are born in the west they put historical blinders on that makes you more apt to ignore significance of other places. Some manage to throw these off.Originally Posted by warblah
Seriously, I never expect a game to tkae the side of history over gameplay, but to make such blunders against history simply befuddles me.
CA have 21 faction slots to play with, they are bound to make some tough choices about which factions to include and which to not include.

I can see how it would be a tough choice when you have only 10 slots, but 21?
Well which faction would you replace with the Czechs, and im sure other people could make a similar argument for replacing an existing faction with Bohemia, or replacing an existing faction with Leon and renaming Spain Castille perhaps. And im sure there would be others saying, no dont remove that factions. CA were never going to make everyone happy.

Bohemia is Czech. They're the same.
Milan and Timurids are more obvious choices. Then there are host of other European kingdoms that were less historically significant and powerful, which are included.
Bohemia is in ChivalrtyTW, which had far less faction slots, and it proved a great choice, helping to even out regions and more accurate historical representation.
