Modding Technologies
This is in relation to a thread I responded to earlier this week, that being modifying technologies to allow access to Matchlock Ashigaru and Samurai earlier. While adding effects to technologies seemed perfectly fine, I noticed that it's difficult to remove effects or requirements from technologies.
For example, when I attempted to move the unlock of Gunsmiths by altering the table "building_level_required_technology_junctions", the result would be that Attack by Fire would now display that it would unlock Gunsmiths, but Gunsmith Mastery would also display that it would unlock gunsmiths, and would remain a required technology. Similarly, when I attempted to change the technology requirement to advance to Attack by Fire from Heaven and Earth to Strategy of Defence by altering the Technology_Node_Links table, the change would not take effect.
I'm fairly new to this, so I'm sure I've missed a step. What am I doing wrong here?
