I'm not sure what to think about this actually.

I just heard too...Sure shows how much Lucas' baby is worth to him. Never imagined him signing away the rights to ANYONE.

... would you not sell your own child for 4 billion dollars?
Think of it this way, for 4 billion dollars you could save millions of other children's lives, and your child would be going to live at Disney which is pretty much every child's dream.
So yes. You would sell your child to Disney for 4 billion dollars. All of us would.

Odd I guess I would not have seen GL as the kind of guy to sell before say death... But 4 Billion is a lot of green and he is what almost 70.
Between the Lucas stuff and Pixar - Disney nows own a huge position in effects and animation.

Disney owns a huge portion of everything. As of 2001 they were the third largest of the big seven massive media conglomerates who control a considerable majority of the worlds media.
Since then Disney has only grown it's holdings.
Well he already destroyed his own legacy , I actually believe Disney will make a better movie then the prequels .

I just heard it on the radio, I'm gob smacked, never thought he would sell it.
So what can we expect for Episode VII?
If nothing else they have a clean slate to run with... rather than shackles of a prequel.i actually believe Disney will make a better movie then the prequels .

Star Wars fans should be happy considering Lucas seemed adamant that there wouldn't be another Star Wars film. Disney has a history similar to EA in the gaming world of ruining IP that they purchase though. I'm more curious to see where they take the brand more then anything else. Wonder if they will get the original actors on board for 7-9 if they plan on making them?

If i were Disney i'd go back and redo the prequels. I guess and episode 7 isn't a bad idea, jsut don't let Lucas anywhere near it.
Shouldn't be too hard, they're all washed up.Wonder if they will get the original actors on board for 7-9 if they plan on making them?
Maybe Disney will re-release the originals. Episode VII could be ok, just as long as they don't let Lucas have complete and total control, or it could be another Crystal Skull. I think they should get at least one original actor to bridge the original trilogy and VII.

Since they bought Marvel I did not see Marvel's movies getting worse. So they could pretty much deliver a good movie, probably even better than the prequel movies. It doesnt mean we will have Luke sywalker with big eyes and jazz as soundtrack.

At first I was skeptical, but ultimately I think this is a good thing. Disney is a powerhouse that will revitalize and rejuvenate the Star Wars world, and I think they'll do a great job with Episode VII. It should at least be better than the prequels (shouldn't be too hard to do). lol![]()
