    Default Greek City-States in 1-turn

I added Greek City States to 1-turn Campaign through editing. I understand they are unballanced because the modders lumped so many Citys on different continents together. However i can't be without my city states as they are my favorites along with the Romans. Its a dead heat.

Is their a way i can make it so you only start out with Athens Rhodes and Corinth? Its a shame to not have them as a faction. No they are not a single nation but a loose confederation of city states that only band together when in dire need. But this campaign is that time! Or should i just take Sparta and have them force an alliance with the mentioned city States? I love the dynamic of independt Greek governments bonding together to unite Greece and fend off the Roman and successor state threats.

I belive it is possibile but that would take some serious modding to subtract all those city's.

Yes because that would be a realistic starting Alliance. And you wouldn't be too powerfull. Conquer Sparta and force them into the alliance. But to have Massalia and Syracuse as well as the other greek settlements on the map? way too much and not realistic. If i conquer them thats different. But not as the starting setup. There is not much better to me then fielding an army comprised of Athenian, Rhodesian,Corinthian,Spartan and other greek hoplites all in one force. Pretty damn cool.

Then why not just let the cities you dont want, rebel. You could also give them to other factions using forced diplomacy.

If you don't want to let them rebel, you can also go the data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign/descr_strat.txt
and edit it a bit. Here is a tutorial.

Thanks for the tutorial. i thought about the letting citys rebel idea but what to do with all those generals? alot of headaches. The Greeks have to be playable in total war. Nobody said they had to be a true faction. They are an alliance. Then again taking Sparta and uniting the Greeks was something Sparta would want. They thought of themselves as the defenders of Greek Autonomy. As long as they were the recognized leaders of the coalition of course.

Athens actualy was a bigger bully to their allies. Sparta may have been arogant but they usualy stood up for weaker Greek states that needed help. Athens became very arogant and even used the treasury of their alliance for their own citys public works. The great Pericles tried to justify this but he revealed himself to be flawed in this issue. It alienated many of their allies. They even moved the treasury from Delos to Athens. For questionable reasons no doubt. Anyhow i love the Greeks and their drama. United they could rival Rome itself but Greeks loved their Independence. It wasn't meant to be.
