I'd like secondary swords for Gondor Spearmen

Why? Well, the division between spearmen and swordsmen feels a bit "gamey" to me, like they were gaming pieces (which in fact they are instead of real troops). I'd much rather have just "Gondor infantry" with spears and swords than "swordsmen" and "spearmen". A matter of taste entirely.

Now, I know it can be "easily" done by merging models, say make a copy of the Gondor Archer model and replace the bow with the spear and shield of the Gondor spearman, and then editing the appropiate text files - but I'm totally incompetent in that former respect.

I could probably wrap my head around the text editing, but if someone with the necessary skills could make the model, that'd be fab.

I'm surely not the first guy to wish for this though, so first question should probably be - is there a 3.2-compatible model of a spear- and sword Gondor infantryman already made?

Hi yogi. Spear and sword is extremely buggy, the AI doesn't handle it at all. Your spearmen will get creamed because they will switch to swords right before the horses hit them. Pikes and swords usually works so-so for me but many people hate the way they work as well. A lot of time the ai will just switch back and forth a bunch and let themselves get hacked to pieces. The player can watch for this the AI will not. This is info I read from other people in the modding forums.

Thanks Alleycat, is suppose it's a bad idea then.

While I love the Total War series to bits, it does have a few very annoying little glitches, and this seems to be another one then.
