Any overlcocker gurus?
I want to overclock my i7 930 2.8ghz it has a standard pcu fan.
i don't want nothing extreme but i would like 3.2ghz or more if possible.
The case is extremely well ventilated, my current temperatures even under load on the standard components never exceeds 51 degrees.
Only problem is i don't know what figures i need to be putting in my bios to overclock so any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm running a Asus P6X58D-E Motherboard, any more info needed i can supply.

Re: Any overlcocker gurus?
In my case...
I had a speed of 3.6GHz, that's what was in the box, a 36 (no decimal). I changed it to 40 to get 4.0GHz
What's there now?

Re: Any overlcocker gurus?
well you will need an aftermarket cooler. i'd also make sure your bios is uptodate. mines been running @4ghz 24/7 for several yrs. def worth doing.
i can suggest some cooler for you if you want.
here's a guide i found at anandtech http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=305851
but hunt around for info from people who have oc'd on your mobo.
also you will need at some point some extra progs to check stability (intelburntest/occt/linpack).
