Ever. This is how I endeavor to be away from the screen, and it should be no different here.
Should I ever falter in this commitment, I know that I alone will be responsible for my actions. Whether I am praised or ridiculed, all I will ever have a right to do is hope that the members of TWC will accept me. Even if they do not, I understand it is just as free a choice as anything else in this universe, a concept for which I have come to hold the deepest respect.
I feel I have realized in my time on this earth that truly we are all here, together, able to experience the same pain and the same pleasure equally. I have found in these forums yet another connection to my fellow human beings, which is why I have accepted the invitation to be Civitate and why I have the best hopes for my future here, regardless of whether I am voted in or not.
Through thick and through thin, through all the arguments and conflicts I have perceived in the world as a whole, and even on these forums, it has always given me great pleasure to see that we can all come together here in places such as this. I once myself felt online forums were shameful in some way, but this was incorrect of me and in fact I think they are as good a tool as any, when treated with respect and modesty, for we as people to gather and share our minds.
As with all things in my life, I only seek to be enriched by my time here. If I am able to enrich others as well then it will give me pleasure - but, again, whatever others may feel about me, I will always rejoice in knowing that each and every one of us is free in all choices.
I will add here that with specific respect to this forum I understand the privileges I will have as a Civitate include such things as my having "suffrage and a voice within the Curia", as well as access to sub-forums like the Symposium(I particularly look forward to being able to post here)
In finishing, let me say this:
I become a slave when I believe I am a slave. If I seek freedom without coveting it, I will have already gained it, and so I will never cease to be free. This is the truth I hold to. This is the truth I wish to be. Here at TWC, and everywhere.
I will only ever be what I am.
Thank you for this opportunity. I look forward to becoming a Civitate, and I would like to give a special thanks to Imb39, the others here that also invited me to become a Civitate, and everyone else. You all have my respect and my thanks.
