A senatu An open letter to the peoples of Diomedes and the Republic, to be transcribed into all written languages and verbally translated for all non-written:

A great leap in the history of our world was made several days ago, when a nation and people we thought we had cosigned to the depths of our past one again returned to our sight. Many thousands of years ago, the first human colonists of Diomedes fled from their homeland of Earth and into the realm of our legends. These people, who have seen fit to contact us once again after thousands of years of separation, are the ones from whom our ancient ancestors had run. Indeed, the probe that was discovered by international science teams in the wilderness last week belonged to these people, our oldest, most natural enemies.

Long have the citizens of the Republic been the keepers of Diomedes' ancient history. Long have archaic tales of yore days been studied and analyzed under the wisdom of the Daeliarons. Having read the deep histories of our fair Republic's foundation once more, we have again called upon the ancient memories of our dark past, along with new knowledge garnered from analysis of the probe. Our decision has been unanimous: Our ancestors were right to flee such people as these.

These Earthlings with whom we have once again come into contact call themselves "The Magisterium." They are a society of ruthless religious fanatics, whose faith stems from the Christianity that we know today. In ancient days, their ruling dynasty, the Stuarts, built a world-spanning empire over the course of several centuries of tyranny and oppression. Though they were founded as a nation of laws and democracy, the rulers of this realm were twisted by the lure of power. So strong was their lust for conquest, that when there were no more lands to conquer on Earth, they instead turned to the skies: They left the bounds of their homeworld and began to scour the universe for new planets to enslave. Countless nations and peoples will go unknown to future generations because of the hatred and greed of these wicked men.

Against such hatred, how can any one being stand alone? When ancient flames of war return to Diomedes to shake the very foundations of our society, what will we do? There are many people on Diomedes, but they remain divided, even after thousands of years of coexistence. For far too long has the brotherhood of this planet been torn asunder over and over again, in the name of a greed no different from those of our rediscovered enemies. Why should we permit brothers to fight among themselves any longer, especially now when our planet faces its darkest hour?

In the name of all of Diomedes, we call you peoples to stand! Let there be no more division and selfishness, but let there instead be from this day forth one nation! One country of Diomedeans, fighting together in the name of liberty, regardless of race and culture! Today marks the dawn of a new age in the history of our world. Let there no longer be any national borders, nor ethnic wars, nor endless, brutal feuds among peoples, but let there instead be a single, United Republic of Diomedes, standing for the rights and freedoms of all people!

We ask you now, oh nations of our world, to only join with us, in the name of our world and its people. The unification of our planet is necessary to our survival, and we will permit none to stand against the defense of liberty in the face of foreign invasion.

Make your decision quickly. Fate does not wait for the whims of men, nor do the forces of evil stay themselves for the convenience of those who would do good. You must fight with us now, our armies joined in an indomitable coalition, against all of the forces of wickedness, or perish alone.

A Papa An epistle from Pope Alexander XXVII to all of the Faithful of Diomedes.

Ad Fideles,

Blessings to you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in these black days of our history. Never before has so much danger been posed to so many innocent people at one time. The gates of hell have truly come bearing down upon the Church of God, though we know well that they shall never triumph!

These men who we must stand against now are an ancient and corrupt race. They claim the fullness of faith, but only possess a shadow of it, far removed from the true teachings of Christ. They who were once entrusted with that most holy and truthful message have fallen into heresy and sin, becoming themselves the denizens of a New Babylon. In their wickedness and faithlessness, they have even claimed to maintain the true seat of St. Peter, a most ridiculous notion!

The Fathers of our noble and ancient Church are in agreement: When a ruler becomes a tyrant, he must be opposed with all due force. This "magisterium" (if it is at all deserving of the title) is just such a tyranny! Their pope is no more than a rebellious anti-pope, his position corrupted by thousands of years of ruinous deceit, oppression, and iniquity!

It is in this time of great need for our nation, that we must recall that it is we, the colonists of far Diomedes, that hold and maintain the ancient Church, founded at Pentecost more than seven-thousand years ago. It is our sworn duty to defend it to the death against all those who would see to her final and damning corruption. Let us never forget this in the days to come!

Outside of the Silverhall Palace in the Amestrian capitial, a crowd has gathered while the royal guard stand watch on and around a platform with a podium on it, where a majority of the Amestrian nobility and ministers have assembled to hear the King and Amestrian Pope's speech in response to the United Republic's declaration..

"Several days ago, our military forces stopped the barbaric dogs of the "Free People" from stealing a scientific and historic discovery. While the Royal Parliament has granted authority to wage war on these monsters who provoked our soldiers into action against theirs as they attempted to lustfully sate their greed by stealing the probe of the Magisterium for solely their gain and blame Amestris for provoking the conflict when reports state it was their assualt on the aerial battleship that began the combat, despite the firing on the ground by Amestris soldiers in a attempt to force them to cease fire, which caused no casualties on either side until the engagement escalated with their admiral demanding Amestrian military obey his orders while his men are allowed to butcher them if we had complied with a ceasefire! While it would be glorious to see them suffer from this provocation, the church teaches to forgive..so we shall. Amestris shall instead of declaring war, simply take econjomic and diplomatic sanctions on this nation unless further military action is taken on their behalf against our Union.

As to these Republicans, they claim to be the Keepers of our history. They claim to be the path to defend us from the vengeful Magisterium. Then, I ask, WHY was it Amestrian forces that saved the probe? They say their alien equals analyzed the history of the human race? I highly doubt that. Inequality is a fact! The conquered suffer while the conquerers profit, there is no equal except in nations where politics are a popularity contest and interbreeding of human and alien is probably allowed! I shall never see Amestris brought under such a flawed system, as these who claim to be the sole path and doing this in the name of Brotherhood mask their intent of domination behind honeyed words! Monarchies. Constitutional Monarchies. Despotic States. Commonwealths. Human states. Alien states. Combines states. There are so many factors these Republicans ignore that doom their plan to failure,in my opinion. Such a state will collapse in on itself if it occured. I swear, before my people and God that I shall never allow this ambombination to control Amestris as long as I still breathe! Struggle leads to progress, of which we all shall strive towards, no matter what challenges stand in our way! Gloria, Amestris!"

The King steps down from the podium, to be replaced by a religious figure, clearly the Amestrian Pope.

"Blessings to you all, my children. This false pope is but an apparent mouthpiece of the Republic's beliefs. While the church preaches tolerance and unity, his majesty's words are true. There is no true way to unify this planet into a single nation from many. Heathens will still exist, will we have to tolerate some revolting rituals and god forbid, the fanatical madmen to the north?Our faith will last, this new threat will come and through the trials he brings to us in time, we shall overcome!"

The Amestrian crowd begin cheering as several other politicans speak, and within an hour, the event is over having been broadcasted across the Union..and in some cases, all Diomedes.

The Senate has refused to dignify the Union's audacious defamation with an official statement, but want the King and "pope" to be fully aware that their speeches are being considered as nothing less than fighting words. Opposition to the necessary unity of Diomedes will not be tolerated.

The emperor step out atop the Citadel, he steps out before the Council and a crowd of people eager to hear what the Emperor has to say about the resent turn of events.

"From what I understand the Imperial Scientific Service was a little late on the scene of this Earthling probe, and from what I hear they missed a hell of alot. I've been told that the Union and the "Free People" have come to blows.. and to that I say may their rivers run red with blood and may the honors of battle find them, for their glory and for Death's.

But enough about them you all want to hear about the statements made by the Republic, and rightfully so indeed these Republican bastards have told us that for the greater good we must give up our freedom, war, our national sovereignty, what makes us, us and you know what I say to that.. I say the Republic can shove its offer, I'll never send elected officals to speak for my people in some cesspool of a capital and I'll never embrace a Daeliaron as my superior nor would any other Imperial! The words of the first Sidon ring true now "their is no honor in surrender without battle, nor is their honor in victory without blood", so I tell the Republic this, if they want this planet they must pull it from the cold dead fingers of those who would protect it! And I tell you this my people the Republic will never lord over Imperial lands as long as my lungs yet draw breath and my heart yet beats! But I also tell them they need not worry about this Magisterium, for if the time comes and these bastards do show their faces on this planet the sons of Death will be the first to defend her! And from the Magisteriums boast it should be a damn good fight, and I'm hoping so cause if they were weak what would be the point in fighting them? So I say that we Imeprials will give these Earthlings a welcome they will never forget, we will do this with or without the help of the other antions of this world and we will do so free of the Republic, free of tyranny, and as free Imeprials!"

The Emperor's word were met with the cheers of Humans and Amathran alike, and the howls and grunts of other races. Each member of the Council would give their take on the events as well, the day would end with a fiery speech from the Supreme Commander of Imeprial Forces Marada. This broadcast would be seen on many an Imeprial television and indeed around the palnet.

MACHINE FOUND, THREATENS WORLD, BELIEVED TO BE FROM MAGISTERIUM
A Fortunan team of agents and a Marine Commando escort has, along with research teams from our friends in Amestris and Jasperica, the United Republic, and the Silent Order. The Empire was present as well, and it appeared that they and the United Republic could come to blows, but the real fireworks were when the so-called "Free" People of Diomedes decided that they'd steal the machine. A firefight ensued, but luckily no one was hurt in the fight. The machine has been revealed to be of earthling origin and markings identify it as a Papist automaton built and sent by the Magisterium. When activated, it played an audio recording of someone promising to destroy us for the glory of their theocracy. The head Fortunan agent there shot and destroyed the speaker, cutting off the audio in case it was to trigger something after being played. On further examination, inside was a bomb attached to a recording of Trololo, the song written in 1939 by Fr. Dzhugashvili to commemorate the destruction of Ivanovich's rebels and played later by Nationalist forces at the Battle of Moscow in 1993. It seems the Papist dogs will not leave us alone, even in another galaxy.

Republican Army Marches West

With holdings now secured on our Northern border, the army under the command of General Menzies is making a drive Westward along the coastline, then moving inland again to secure more territory. This demonstration of the Republic's military might is expected to bring a total of 8 new regions of high economic production within our borders. These new military movements are viewed by the Senate as a small but critical step towards the unification of Diomedes against future threats from humanity's ancient homeworld.

Operation complete: 8 days (map attached)

Infrastructure Improvements

The chancellor authorized today funding for the renovation and improvement of roads, turnpikes, and other facilities in the capital as well as some of its neighboring suburbs. The improvements are expected to bring in new jobs and entrepreneurs to the region, as well as increase government revenues.

Two commercial regions upgraded from level 1 to level 2 at a cost of 20,000.

The 2nd Imperial Warriors, other wise known as Havoc, is sent new orders to go back into duty. The mission is a forced march of conquest, through the second largest jungle on the planet, the march will take over two years due to the size of the region, the denseness of the jungle, and the mountainous terrain. They are under orders to set up two forts(blue Xs on the map) in the jungle from which the Empire might keep order in this would be province.

Operational Time: 18 days
Regions Gained: 15 (13 commercial, 2 military)
