Love thew new mini preview..
Are these two factions playable? or are the units just recruitable?
Either way another excellent preview.

they are regional units, recruitable only in certain places.

Superb as usual, Luciano!
But I have one question about swastika on the shield of the Picentine heavy infantryman... Was this symbol traditional for the peoples of ancient Italy? I've already seen swastikas on the shield of the Samnite spearman depicted in Osprey's "Early Roman armies" book.
Thanks again Sparton and Iglauskas
As far as I know the swastika was a symbol related to the shared heritage of many ancient populations ...it is often used like a geometric decorative motif (probably with some symbolic meaning) in ancient Greek (tetraskelion) and Italic artworks, obviously with no connection with the nazis....

Thanks for the quick reply, Luciano!
Nice. I was wondering what you`re going to do with Corsica and Sardinia considering how much detail went into the other regions.
Are these old units that you`ve only now decided to preview or are you still making new ones?
The costal parts Sardinia and Corsica were in Carthaginian hands during the timeframe covered by our mod so the two islands are regarded in part as Punic provinces and in part (mostly the inland portions) as "rebel" territories.
I'm continuing to add new units and I'm also constantly updating the old ones.

And if a punic region revolts will the revolt units be punic or nuragic?
Yes, I saw that. But you risk doing work for two mods in the end if you keep updating it with such determination. And about the updated models. It`s something I long wanted to ask. You had a syracusan hetairoi cavalry with a thracian helmet (over all it looked very much like a drawing from Duncan Head`s book) and later you`ve showed one with a boeotian helmet. They`re pretty different from one another and I was wondering if the one with the thracian helmet has been scrapped all together. It was a very handsome unit.I'm continuing to add new units and I'm also constantly updating the old ones.
EDIT: I meant this guy:

great work luciano b
About the revolts in Sardinia, I'd say that the rebels will be Nuragic; revolts in other Punic settlements, like Lilybaeum or Panormus which were original Phoenician colonies, will be done by Punic rebels.
About the Greek unit change, don't worry, I reused such helmet also for other units; so just to make a bit of variation I replaced it in one of the models.

btw, will Sardinia et Corsica expand? cause in the beta test mod now, they are just 1 settlement on each island

Right, that makes sense.
Ah, got it now. Thanks for the explanation! And thank you for not abandoning the Bi version of PI! The mod has a great concept and very well researched and graphically beautiful units. I`m looking forward to it.About the Greek unit change, don't worry, I reused such helmet also for other units; so just to make a bit of variation I replaced it in one of the models.
Thanks for you warm and continuous support, florin.
