In the weeks after some of the best hive mind collective monkey riots this year against a film so threatening to our faith (yeh ) , I'm bemused as to the silence of my fellow brothers and sisters on this.

Speaks volumes as to the state of the Ummah when some of the worst acts of cultural vandalism committed so openly against Islamic heritage go ahead unchallenged with the exception of a report in some communist rag.

Now I'm genuinely not surprised as to the mindset required to blow up pagan idols in Afghanistan hey!

I really thought this was going to be about the violence in Burma this week, in which the majority of the victims were Muslims of Rakhine State. But I guess this political statement about the Saudi regime that just about everyone knows is ed up is kind of the same.

As a man with an obvious interest in the subject, I would have thought the fact that the Ummah genuinely seem not to give a or even know half the time about what's been happening to pretty important historical sites related to their religion would distress you.
Well I'm assuming there must have been some neat stuff over there, we won't really know for certain, what with it having being destroyed and all.

You would think so. But then after watching these historical sites be destroyed year over year, Salafists destroy shrines in Yemen year over year, and then move on to Libya and Mali without much of a peep, and the bloodshed by the Taliban in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and then the bloodshed in Syria, I've moved on from the distress phase to the low-level ache of bemusement and shaking my head silently.

It's not that I'm disinterested, it's just that it doesn't surprise me anymore. Truly I would like to see the Islamic world turn on these people, and indeed I think a big part of the Arab Spring was the rejection of al-Qaeda-like extremism, but I just don't think it's forthcoming. Much like in the West, there is too much of a focus on a clash of civilizations, of creating monoliths which need to be combatted. We are however fortunate that there is a substantial amount of intellectuals in the Muslim world who realize this problem and are trying to educate and discuss.

But I see what you are saying. I think I just took your thread title and accompanying tongue-in-cheek comments in your OP the wrong way.
