Future events that you predicted (MAJOR SPOILERS)

By its very nature, this thread is going to contain MAJOR SPOILERS right up to the end of ADWD - you have been warned!

So, what major events in the book did anyone successfully predict?

My idea for this came reading up to the RW - there were so many clues, so much foreshadowing that I was kicking myself, how could I not have seen it coming?

Me, I was in such a rush to get through the 5 books that I missed a helluva lot, but I got these two.

Dany betraying the slave masters and turning the Unsullied on them. Maybe George made it too obvious, but I picked up right away that that was going to be her plan.

Davos's 2nd death not really being dead. By that point in the series you realise that no-one is dead until you see the body, and even then they're not really dead, and just something about the story of his death didn't ring true. I didn't know how it had been done, but I was sure that wasn't his head.

Anyone else?

I predicted that eddard stark was going to die at the end of the first novel. Then again, I did watch the first season show before reading the novels so...........

That Jon Snow would be the next Lord Commander, or atleast in some way, lead the Night's Watch. It's one of those obvious ones with all the "grooming for command" that Mormont and Aegon did.

I predicted the Iron Born failing to take the North and that the Mountain would die before the end of the fifth books. Didn't predict the potential zombification though.

The Red Wedding. Not well in advance and my imagination didn't quite encompass all of that, so say rather the betrayal of the Freys. I thought it awfully convenient that Lord Frey would agree to new and lesser terms so quickly when Catelyn had mentioned how much he hated being disrespected (along with what you see of him first hand). And then when Grey Wind was acting overtly hostile for no readily apparent reason that clenched it for me.

Still, I wasn't expecting an outright slaughter. I mean the men-at-arms were screwed, but they gave up a lot of valuable ransoms when they killed all the nobles and knights.

That Brienne didn't die. That Davos doesn't die. Hell, no one seems able to die properly in this universe! I was so damn happy when they hanged the Beauty, but then she came back in the next book

Yep, like I said, no-one is dead unless you see the body. And even then, they might not be dead

Still, makes it interesting for Jon Snow now, no-one knows if he is badly wounded or dead, and if dead, if Mel will res him. But I really should have seen that coming - Ghost was going nuts, I really should have learnt to pick up on that by now....

Anyways, I predicted that Dany would screw up the whole situation in the east somehow. If she ends up winning the Iron throne I'm gonna feel rather disgusted tbh..
