A forest in Romania
Atticus apparated with a crack, his hair whipping about him as he immediately began walking forward, leaving James several feet behind him. He stopped moving, almost invisible in the blackness of the night. The forest seemed awake in the night, frogs croaking and owls hooting.
"She is close. Can you feel it?"

Re: A forest in Romania
James looks around, not lighting his wand as he doesn't wish to give anything away.
hold on a moment. A useful spell.
Pulling his wand out - the straight cherry Atticus notices - he casts a disillunment charm on the pair.

Re: A forest in Romania
Atticus drew his wand, nodding.
Be cautious, I've observed her from afar. She can move about very silently, almost like a fog.
moderation:
(I know, kind of sad we have to moderate this ourselves, but oh well.)
At that moment James was filled with an incredible sense of fear, and a hideous voice came alive in his head. "Elvric, the pathetic wizard that couldn't curse his way out of a cardboard box...no friends...no family...and you think you can find me? Keep walking, James, you're almost there."

Re: A forest in Romania
James closed his eyes for a moment. Clearing his mind and keeping focusing on his breathing to calm the flutter of fear that he was feeling. His practice paying off, he could detect it was being imposed on his own nerves. Rather than coming from himself.

He was able to push the thoughts out, but not being able to prevent them in the first place was troublesome

Re: A forest in Romania
James simply accepted the invasion, kept himself calm, and placed analysis of it off until later. It would wait.
She knows we are here. I suggest you move somewhere. I shall keep close behind you. Knowing what is coming should prove useful.
Without another word James turns into an owl, and fades off into the night.

Re: A forest in Romania
Interesting, James was an animagus. Atticus would need to remember that. He ventured on further, and heard a branch snap in the woods to his left. He turned his head and looked to see the telltale signs...but he saw nothing.
"Hildegard...Its Atticus. Why don't you come out?"

Re: A forest in Romania
ooc: Since Hildegard is a badass we can just moderate eachother's own duel with her. She can take us both at once.
Atticus took one final step and felt a presence behind him. Finally Hildegard simply gave herself away with a chilling cackle. Atticus turned and prepared himself for the duel. He sent up red sparks. Hopefully James would see them and come down to help in the attack.
Hildegard spoke in a wheezy tone
"Hmmm...not aurors this time. How peculiar....where's the other?

Re: A forest in Romania
James was floating almost above Atticus when Hildegard emerges behind him. Settling on the floor just behind the former death eater he returns to human form. Both wands in his hands, the apple in his right fist and the cherry in his left. Staying silent, though aware its unlikely he will take her by surprise he silently casts Protego Horribilis on the area, then uses his cherry in his left hand to cast Stupefy.
ooc; yep, you read right. Duel wielding wands!!

Re: A forest in Romania
Hildegard blocked the spell easily with a protection charm, smiling a yellow smile. She cast a horrible spell, waving her wand in a wide arc. Fire poured from the tip, erupting into every direction. Her black figure disapparated and appeared behind James. She then performed a spell neither of them had seen before, she seemed to channel dark energy into matter, and sent it scattering towards James.
Behind, Atticus ran to stand at James' side.

Re: A forest in Romania
James stands ready, using protego to deflect the spell. And then follows up with Expelliarmus. He keeps himself at the defensive, ready to cover Atticus, while the lad readies himself.

Re: A forest in Romania
Hildegard once again countered easily, giving a muffled grunt
"You'll have to do better than that, James."
Atticus reached James' side and gave a quick retort. "Promise not to run? I'm not leaving here until I kill you, Hildegard. I saw what you did to those muddles in Vienna."
Hildegard gave a hiss "And I wouldn't have been able to do it without your help, my boy"
Atticus was fuming silently beside James. At length he raised his wand and took a step forward "Avada Kedavra!"

Re: A forest in Romania
Atticus' spell was rushed, and flares though the forest, Hildegards laughter as she disapperates away and appears behind Atticus echoing thoughout the forest.
Avada Kedavra! she yells at him.
James chooses this moment to cast Immobulus at Hildegard.
Atticus, what are you doing? We are here to capture her. Not kill her. Not unless it gets desperate.

Re: A forest in Romania
Atticus' hair was plastered to his face and he was breathing heavily
"Capture her? James, you don't know what she's capable of. We need to bring her down."
Atticus pivoted, falling to one knee. He disapparated in a puff of black mist and appeared some distance away directly facing Hildegard. He gripped his wand with great pressure and pointed it downward towards Hildegard, his other arm held rigidly behind him. "Expulso!"
Hildegard was late in protecting herself, and James' spell had partial success. She would be more likely to miss from now on (+10% miss chance for Hildegard)

Re: A forest in Romania
Hildegard grins as she uses protego on the curse, then responds with Confringo.
James meanwhile disapparates from his spot - still the same one as he had started. And reappears in the trees above her. Looking down he casts Archeris and uses Engorgio to enlarge them before launching them with a Banishing Charm directly downwards towards Hildegard.

Re: A forest in Romania
Hildegard gave a squeel and incanted "Aresto momentum!" This gave her just enough time to remove herself from the path of the spear-like arrows before they sank into the earth.
The incoming fireball was still a ways off, Atticus had time to compose himself and respond "Aguamenti!" in the hopes that he would be able to deflect the fire before it reached him.
Meanwhile, Atticus pointed his wand and the tree James was in and cast a spell he hoped would entangle Hildegard near the base of the tree "Incarcifors"
He intended the roots and branches to spring to life, immobilizing and capturing Hildegard.

Re: A forest in Romania
James hadn't stopped long enough to think about it. He disapparated away again. once more landing a short distance from Hildegard. Himself, Atticus and the woman forming a triangle of sorts. Standing there, he sees Atticus fend off the fireball. Seeing the steam from the two spells gives James an idea. And he turns once more towards Hildegard. Quickly he uses his apple to send a jet of water at a nearby tree, and his cherry to cast a freezing charm once the tree is drenched. Then follows, by aiming both his wands at the same time and crying Engorgio. Hoping that the rapidly expanding frozen tree would be ripped to shreds and explode over Hildegard.
Hildegard in the meantime narrowly avoiding the grasping roots, had shifted her focus from Atticus towards James. Having momentarily judged him the greater threat. (cause of the partial spell that hit, and the big arrows thingy) yells Sectumsempra

Re: A forest in Romania
Frozen splinters rain down upon Hildegard, several of them embedding themselves in her skin. It is an irritation, but luckily for her most of the major splinters avoid her. When she sent her spell at James, it became obvious he would have to counter quickly.
Meanwhile, Atticus apparated directly in front of Hildegard and launched into a flurry of attacks, his black robes billowing with the effort "Avada Kedavra!" With every flick of his wand a jet of green light made its way towards Hildegard, who countered using a variety of spells meant to throw the spell off its track. It was clear she was tiring from the effort of dueling two at once.
