    Default Water cooling.

I've been building computers for MANY years now, first was a pentium 2 350, and one thing i've never done was a watercooled system. Is their any guides on watercooling, like what to buy or what kits are the best? I really know nothing about it and want to give it a real attempt, I want to overclock as well which is the whole point of me wanting to do this.

I'm probably going to get the lowest of the 4mb Cache conroe processors and OC that plus a 7950 geforce and overclock both.

One thing about the 7950 geforce though is if I sli then, when a biosupdate for quad-sli comes out, will I need 2 waterblocks for the 2 cards or 4 since they are really 4 video cards? I've never seen one before so idk how they are.

This site covers alot about watercooling

    basicly you need

    *pump
    *reservoir to hold water
*CPU/GPU/MB waterblocks with one of 1/4,1/2 or 3/8 fittings
*radiator with 120mm fan depending on case intakes
*hose 1/4,1/2 or 3/8 sizes they all differ in waterflow and flexyness, 1/2 is the best but a little tough to work with imo.
    *coolant

Hope i helped you a bit, Good luck

I have a passive water cooling system Zalman Reserator 1 in my computer and I dont have a single fan in computer expect in power. As being almost noiseless computer I think it's one of the best passive water coolings out there if you like to have powerful cooling system combined with silent computer. :original:

Good tip but passive cooling dosent do well when overclocking alot that core duo 2 CPU will do atleast 1,2 ghz worth of overclocking and will need proper cooling to stay well under any condition. I might been wrong with the zalman reserator but personaly i would go with a regular watercooling setup.

There are various blocks in development - Innovatek, and Bteck Corner have something in the pipe (so to speak).

    I found This

It's the coolest looking set up I've seen...

Don't waste your money on water cooling. Check thise case out, the future of air cooling.

Extremly easy to set up, and it cools as good as any water system.

That case won't cool any more than any other case, the 25cm fan is for quietness, not sucking in air.

Kanaric, if you want to overclock a Conroe processor, skip the watercooling and use the money to get a nice Intel 975XBX motherboard. From what I'm seeing, Conroe overclocking is more limited by the FSB than by the CPU its self, if you want to OC a E6600 to 4 ghz you have to rise the FSB to 400mhz! A decent heatsink should be more than enough to cool the CPU at 4 ghz.

I beg to differ, I happen to own one. And it actually has the highest cfm of any case out there. Well above 200. My pc stays extremly cool all the time no matter how much of a load I place it under.

Well I want to use water cooling mostly because i've never done it before as well. So I dont want to opt for a air cool based system.

Also that zalman thing is quite large. I dont want some massive tower sitting next to it, lol. I want everything to be included in or attached to the case.

I was checking that out actually since i'll need a new case as well. IDK though.

I have to wait to pay for my next semester so it will be around like 3-6 months before i can buy anything.

I liked the 'Danger Den' blocks. Some nice coloured water and UV lights too.
Easy project use a full tower. More challenging is using a midi. Need to see a nice window in the case too

to me a windows is optional. Nobody ever sees the side of the computer with the lights... i rarely if ever go to lans and unless you go to lans often all of that is useless.
