    Default Berlusconi got Convicted! ! ! !

    http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2012...n_2023142.html

Berlusconi was sentenced to prison for tax fraud!

He remains free and will appeal this sentence.

A politician who said "I swim in a sea of money and beautiful women and you know that I'm not one to restrain myself" and got re-elected.
A Billionaire Prime Minister that owns one of the biggest football teams in Europe and the sex life of whom has become a porn movie.
A man who's magnificense the other corrupted politicians around the world strive to achieve.

That was the Silvio we loved! (Since we weren't Italians)
ANd they want to sent him to Prison! The man deserves a medal!

    Forza Silvio! ! ! !

Show your support to this hero and update your sig!

I may be in the minority, but I think Silvio is ing awesome. Italy should just revert to Fascism and appoint him as Il Duce. At least the mass transit might run on-time again.

I also find Silvio to be awesome, especially since his opponents were so pathetic that they were trying to take him down because of his sex life ... while the dude is scoring women like a Baus.

Paying 17 year olds for sex doesn't sound massively laudable to me, and the fact that the means to obtain these women in the first place—his fortune—stems from corruption, also somewhat detracts from any positive spin you may put on his achievements.

All I have to say on this matter is that it's about time, and that 1 year is far too short.

There is nothing wrong with him paying women for sex, He is an unabashed womanizer, so whatever floats his boat. As for the corruption charges I say that we wait for the judicial inquiries to be finished.

Edit: Updated my sig : Free Silvio!

It's really boring hoping that gangsters get their just desserts. How tedious we all are, although I'm excited that you've made up two words to describe our falsely attributed position.

Heard it here from Menelik_I. That may come back to haunt you at that school you claim to run.

    @Menelik

You are wrong on the whole line here. The Ruby scandal is not really a scandal for the sex part per se, what is at stake there and what his political (and I would say everyone with good sense) opponents accuse him of is using is position of Prime Minister to influence police officials in not doing their duty and letting the girl go.He basically abused is power, with the false excuse being that Ruby was Mubarak's niece (which wouldn't make sense even if this blatant lie would have been true), because he was fearful that his prostitution "ring" would be completely exposed and he would also be faced with the fact that the girl was a minor. The sex part does have some weight, he lost support because of it; rightly so because the truth is that during the night he would "misbehave" and during the day he would try to cover up, effectively not governing the country. But really the major issue (politically and judicially) here is the abuse of power.

    Back on topic:

Berlusconi will never spend a single minute of is life in prison, mostly thanks to his Statute of limitations reforms. This is good news though.

Silvio is the reflection of our deeply corrupted and declined Mediterranean political systems and societies. At least he had more style than Papandreou and the likes, I give him that.

By the way, alhoon, you might want to change your sig, as Silvio is not in jail nor will he ever go. He's gonna appeal the case, and the whole procedure is gonna take so long that whatever crime he's done will be erased.

Under the patronage of Emperor Maximinus Thrax
"Steps to be taken in case Russia should be forced out of war considered. Various movements [of ] troops to and from different fronts necessary to meeting possible contingencies discussed. Conference also weighed political, economic, and moral effect both upon Central and Allied powers under most unfavorable aspect from Allied point of view. General conclusions reached were necessity for adoption of purely defensive attitude on all secondary fronts and withdrawing surplus troops for duty on western front. By thus strengthening western front [those attending] believed Allies could hold until American forces arrive in numbers sufficient to gain ascendancy."

Has been in same shape for past two thousands years, it probably would not devolve into something lower.

Im south european and i think he deserves alot worse. Him and many like him across Spain, Portugal, and Greece. One year far too short time for a man like him.
Its because of polititians like him with the blessing of national and foreign economic power interest, that South of Europe is suffering right now.
You all often wonder why people complain on the streets of Athens, Lisbon Madrid? well that is why mainly. Southern European countries are run by Political corrupt Mafias for along time now, and that is actualy one of the causes, why our countries are not developed as they should economicaly.

One example the buying of 2 submarines of the Portuguese state to the german company ferrostall, not only it was a scam, and they sold the subs with very high inflated interest rates, and for a much higher fixed price then was initialy agreed to but our polititians agreed with that. To top things up some German managers of the company where convicted and are in prison in Germany for Corruption, under the acusation of paying 52 Milions of Euros to foreign Public officials ( portuguese officials) to have facilities in the deal. Off course and obviously the Portuguese officials were not convicted as they did nothing wrong.... but the Germans are. Meanwhile let the tax payers pay for 2 subs, that we dont even use because they cant withstand Atlantic Ocean condictions. Briliant.

    Similar case in Greece too.

Silvio Berlusconi is undouptly one of the most important Italian politicians of the last two decades.
We love him for his awesomeness. His opponents hate him for his scandalous life, abuse of power and corruption. But love him or hate him, few are neutral towards him; he elicits high emotions. Silvio passes like a tornado through the political life of Italy, not like a breeze.

I know. The trial has been running since 2006 and he has 2 appeals to make before he goes to Jail. At some point, it will hit the stature of limitations.

The accusations, the sex scandals, the trials... and he still got elected.

Just a tiny speck of his Awesomeness.

Tsochatzo in the same league as Silvio?
    Be serius please.

Tsochatzopoulos was one of the countless corrupted politicians that was stealing big time and when accused he started sniveling, crawling in the floor begging etc.

Silvio Berlusconi was open about what he does, more or less admiting it, he was calling his detractors names, he was openly racist and when accused... he remained in power and changed the laws as to be nearly untouchable for his crimes.

Akis was a parasite. Silvio was the guy that cons you out of your house.

Shows what the libertarian-leaning crowd deems as admirable leaders and as usual indulge in that massive mindbind when called out in order to justify the havocing effects of their little hero's. Their little small penis billionaire free individuals doing whatever they like as long as they cut taxes and screw over the public. Leaders destroying the common state and strethening elite-nepotism and military state. The men in suits getting their deals instead of them filthy unions, environmentalist, women, children, drug addicted, homeless, veterans, and so on.

    Lovely people.
