Interactions in other realms:
The Turks capture three terittories from the Romans after defeating a small army in battle near Nikaea. However the Romans destroy their army during the siege and recapture 12 provinces. They drive the Turks to the brink of Anatolia.
The Jerusalemites drive the Fatimid forces all the way to Gaza, capturing the fortress. They make a punitive expedition into Egypt.
The principality of Antioch has some early success, but is sadly defeated by the Turks in battle in Armenia. If it were not for the Romans invading, the city would be under siege.
The Holy Roman Empire meets varying success in its war against the Papacy, capturing swathes of Northern Italy. The pope recaptures some regions, but this is not enough to reverse the tide in his favour...
Castille, Leon and Portugal have varying succes against the Almohads. Castille is driven back after a punitive raid on Grenada, being humiliated after their army is routed by the Moslems. Leon suffers a similar fate, and their king has been forced to abandon the campaign due to wounds sustained in battle. Portugal makes astonishing successes, cutting a path to the straights of Gibraltar and cutting off Almohad supply lines, severing them from their base of power in Africa.
The Pope issues a Papal Bull, and the Third crusade has begun to liberate the East from the Mahometan infidel. The King of England begins to mobilize his troops, and the King of France is preparing his army for passage to the Middle-East.
