    Default City management

Okay, I've recently downloaded this mod and I must say I already like it, it preserves the Islamic atmosphere well, which is already quite a reason for me to play it. But one thing I've noticed so far, managing your state on the first turns may be difficult: like, your money melt right away, city population decline and there is some public discontent. What may be the ways to solve this fast?

Play Abbasid and your problems would be no more.

That's actually what I did, given that it's not present in SS, my most played mod, which made me curious about the faction. Didn't know it was overpowered or anything.

However, I'd like to play Crusaders for instance, yet it's quite a problem due to the problems I mentioned in the OP post.

In most cases the economy starts out tough, you will need to blitz nearby rebels. The abbasids actually have one of the better starting economies, and once you develop baghdad you will have plenty of money... wealthiest city in the game. I think anything between 14-24k a turn, priority one is to take nearby rebel settlements, build roads in them and a paved road for baghdad. You will be filthy rich. You cannot turtle in BC, you will need to expand basically. And the koj are one of the hardest factions... use cavalry to blitz the rebels... take everything but damascus. Focus on antioch as that is quite a wealthy region.
