    Default Buildings in provinces/settlements

I hope CA reads this and sheds some light on this question soon.

In Rome 1, I liked being able to build many buildings in my settlements. With some mods you could build dozens of different buildings in your cities, which was pushing it a bit, but still nice. I didn't like the very limited building choices in Empire and Shogun 2 at all. While the distribution of some settlements across the province is a very good idea, having only 4-5 building slots for the settlement isn't in my opinion.

A mixture of the new system with the old system would be perfect I guess. Many buildings in the settlement (not too many) and many in the region. Maybe 50/50 for a medium province and depending on the size of the province 20-30 buildings altogether.

    What do you think?

I loved the way Empire moved a lot of the buildings out into the province where they were move vulnerable to raiding. It also felt more realistic to not have everything clustered in one city that may be all the way on one side of a huge province.

It would be nice to be able to see the building options for all of those outlying buildings when you select the capital though. Shogun did decently well keeping the building management system contained.

Personally, the best thing about those outlying villages was getting more of them to grow. It added a sense of time and development to the game, and considering that Rome 1 took place over about 200 years, would make sense if they put it in here.

I agree with all that, yet I think the building options for the region capital itself were too few. Imagine being able to build only 4 or 5 buildings in Rome itself...

I really hope CA decides to inform us early on so we can voice our opinion or just do it the right way which is to allow more than 4-5 buildings a city. I thought it was really ing in ETW with such a small selection of buildings. Loved the older mods that had huge lists of buildings to build.

Yeah, provincial buildings make sense outside of cities, but that doesn't mean buildings shouldn't be numerous.

So I get that agriculture should be tied to villages or towns not the regional capital but the capital should have more stuff going on. The handful of slots thing is weird. I should be able to make every city capable of everything. It's not like we're talking about trade offs, cities don't really work like that.

If you make the buildings expensive enough to maintain/build, people won't build everything in every city anyway.

I really liked improving my cities with various cultural and economical buildings, so I support this idea.

I dont know if anyone came up with the idea, however, building structures to support the settlement that you have acquired have certain conditions (just summing up some ideas others in this thread and forum has here)

Conditions for building certain buildings are:

    Region

    Region's prosperity (trade and development)

Region's stability (politically, ethnically, religiously, etc)

    Region's geography

Region's natural resources or proximity to it

Ability of generals in the region

    Culture of Factions

Global News (couldnt find a better word but basically if the huns or a barbarian tribe is migrating whether or not buildings would be accessible or not or how fast they can be built, the faster they can be built would depend on the population and money)

There could be more but this is what I could think of.....
