....redid the legionaires for TE Gold. As im waiting on Kaweh K for the new faction buttons, and Darth Vader to release v14 of his formations mod, i thought i may as well redo the legionaires. Please say what you think of them:

Looks great. I notice they are all right handed. I guess they have always been. Wonder if well have any left handers in MTW2?

Probably not, units will most likely be all right handed again. Whilst i would prefer some left handed units(im a leftie), im quite happy with all right handed units.

I know that this is definatly true in the medievil times, so it would be quite historicaly innacurate to do so. Not so sure about the romans, but my guess is that it was just the same, throughout history, "lefties" have been seen as "the wierdos", sometimes even evil...

They are the same, the first cohort and imperial cohort will share the same model(maybe).

I like the darker shade of the armor, but it looks a little too uniform. With the lighter one, there was some contrast. Is there any way to make it look less uniform but still keep the darker shade (which is probably more realistic given Roman metallurgical skills)? Maybe a little more shine on the edges of the plates to show wear and tear? Or some little scrapes or other damage to show that this armor is actually used and not ceremonial.

Res Gestae's Romans look pretty good. Maybe you can get some ideas from them?

Believe me the armour is far from uniform, it may look uniform at first glance, but if you look closer you will see minor variations, a few dents etc that show it is not uniform. And the lighter one, all of the segmentata was the same, there was little to no variation in the different parts of it.

Could just be a trick of the light in the screenshots, then. Or maybe make the differences a little more obvious? Not so much on the body armor, but more the shoulders.

Maybe try adding a very thin black border (or some other color, like you did for the helmet) to the shoulders' texture, so that the individual plates don't blend together as much. Or make the lighter part along the edges a little brighter (or thicker). Maybe unevenly to show previous damage?

I really prefer the ones we have now in 5.1. These ones seem so dark, the metal looks old and poorly kept. Will these skins be optional?
