Your Own Clan?

Hello.

Total War Shogun 2 is one of the best Total War Games i have ever played, while i love it more then anything i still believe they could have made it better then it already is, i have no idea if this idea had been come up with before in a Total War Game or Weather Its even possible lol But i may aswell tell you all because trust me this is epic...

Ok Since "Shogun 2" the avatar conquest has been one of the best ideas in my Opinion it gives Online Battles a reason it makes you play the game to get better and to get better armys unlike other total war games when you can just pick the best units instantly... So i came up with a cool idea by going off the Conquest Map.

What if on both Single and Multiplayer Campaign you could create your own Clan like you do in the Online Conquest, I Think it would be amazing there could be so many Options to choose from such as...

Clan Name:

Daimyo Name: (Rest of the Family Line can be Random)

Clan specialty:

Clan Banner:

Starting Position:

Starting Castle Name:

Unit Armor Color:

While Some of you may say there is no rebels so new clans is impossible due to no free provinces, thats wrong lol new clans rose and fall all over Japan why? Well The Shogun has the right to give and take land while in Shogun 2 Vanilla the Shogun doesnt have the power he once had he still has loyal clans so say you start with the Shogun you have a small army and you help the shogun defeat a invading army.

In Return the shogun gives you a province in which a menu comes up for you to pick but you pick all the other stuff at the start or at that point doesnt matter but it think it would be amazing. I Love the clans already in Shogun but creating your own would be so sweet.

Leave your Opinions and perhaps fill the list out to create your own clan good or bad doesnt matter just tell me what you think but please dont get hopes up lol. Rome 2 comes soon so shogun will just be a thing of the pass but perhaps if they ever make a Shogun 3 they could use this idea

I've honestly always wondered why CA never included a "sandbox" feature where you can create your own faction and choose its starting region(s). I mean that pretty much expands on replay value by a ton, and leaves room for some interesting scenarios. If Total War is all about changing history, it would seem an option right up their alley.

Yeah i totaly agree, i dont know if its possible but if someone really smart could make a mod that would be amazing lol.

I've also thought this would be a great addition to the game. We already have the ability to customize our daimyo, clan colors and mon is the Avatar campaign, why not in the single player game as well?

It would certainly give you more of a sense of personal investment in the success of your clan.

*scratches head* to difficult? I guess in relations to the engine.

We already got a custom clan "tool" in the avatar design system. (will work just fine with a few tweaks).
The challenge i guess would come with the "divided realm" campaign (or custom campaign for those not familiar with the "empires" seriers) and have the computer random generate the rest of the clans.
Another challenge would be how the game handle unit-to-factions.

But the dynasty/samurai warriors: empires series let you create your own warrior, name him/her, create colours and banner and choose any avaible provinces as "capital province". Hell it'll even random generate the other factions and their starting positions. And these did this already at PS2. Hell it even let your warrior choose between all those fighting styles.

In the bottom of it, with rome 2 being developed, im guessing "Time" is the real issue rather than anything technical.

Adapt the avatar system, reconfigure and improve the FotS campaign map. Solve the random generation issue. Do necessary coding, Ding! there's our DLC. I'd even pay quite alot for it.
Moreover it would solve some stuff modders want (effects affecting other campaign units/buildings etc).
Speaking of units and what i mentioned earlier: You dont actually have to assign units to any clans from what i've seen while modding, unless you want them clan specific. Thus units aint really a problem either.

Which leaves..... Time ^^

I Dont see it going well for Rome 2 Total War because its not like new kingdoms appeared all the time like Japan did with powerfull people with alot of respect geting new land and renaming lol.

Wish they done this would be amazing

Clan specialty: Katana Samurai(Basicly shimazu spec)

Clan Banner: If it was in it my Avatar Symbol Black Background then Gold Symbol and Hangers so my army have Black and Gold Armor

Starting Position:South Shino (Near all the powerfull Clans more fun )

Starting Castle Name: Phoenice

Unit Armor Color: Gold and Black

I'd even pay quite alot for it.

well for me its a questione of: Would i pay 60 euro for a one time experience or 30 euro for replayable varieted experience? I'd chosen the 30 euro option obviously, even if its a DLC with the features we're discussing in this topic. Its one of the reasons i bought skyrim despite all its bugs for example.
As for prices out of hand i just look for sales unless i think its worth it.

Clan specialty: Stronger pure melee, no access to cavalry or archers. Fewer unit numbers.

Clan Banner: The tachibana banner/mon obviously =)

Starting Position: (the school place in kyushu) (cant remember where their province was located, moreover they where a vassal clan until they gained power during the rise of hideyoshi toyotomi if i remember right)

Starting Castle Name: Raikiri (tribute to ginchiyo's attribute in the samurai warriors series)

Unit Armor Color: Gold and Black (same for me, i just love the combination).

Anyone else ??, I Realise this will never happen unless there is a shogun 3 or if Shogun 2 is very active after Rome 2 but come on lol its Rome 2 some of us have been waiting for Rome 2 for years.

Why shouldn't it happen with just about every game? I mean really, the application of it isn't reserved just for Shogun's era. Whether you make your own kingdom in Medieval or nation in Empire, it still has a place.

Im sure it will be amazing in Medieval or any other total war game i was just saying to make it more historic based Shogun 2/Japan is the best way because clans came and went all the time during that time while in europe the kingdoms normaly stayed the same lol.

I wouldn't be so sure about that, there were countless Germanic "-doms" that came and went through the years.

if they done it in rome 2 or any other total war which comes ill be more then happy but i believe it should av been in Shogun 2 it would have been sooooooooo epic.
