I can understand never playing Halo, but the Legend of Zelda? Have you ever even seen a console?

    It is not essential.

Particularly because of this setup, which is that everyone begins the game as a neutral with a wealth win condition.

The good guys and bad guys in this game will be so by choice alone.

The Zelda universe is for color, it doesn't impact the mechanics of the game. Rupees = gold on the Pirate Ship game.

Also, check out this helpful post about the protagonists:

The others (not mentioned on the above list, but on the below) are probable villains.

And you can use Zeldapedia or Zelda wiki to learn more about any of these characters.

Characters/items from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are relevant, other games not as much.

Namashkar, Pizza-ji. I am pretty sure I have asked once already, but are allowed to use Indian accents to honour your choice of the rupee as most valuable currency?

It's not technically illegal, but it's already annoying.

We must preach tolerance and multicultural convergence, Pizza-ji. It is the dharma of every good person to do such a thing.

Jarrema-ji, I sense that you were having a lack of such devices in the past. Fear not you should, this can be remedied by emulators.

I doubt mine was swanky enough for that, plus most science and math teachers cleared all the calculators before every test. I did have two for some reason, though...

If high school could've been a lot better than it was, I'm going to be so pissed.

Battery-ji, material possessions aren't what is most important. Search your feelings. You know it to be true.

I think you're confusing Hinduism with the Jedi religion, dude.

I'll note that the Jedi told Luke to search his feelings before the Sith did.

A true Star Wars fan would know this.

You must play this game all the way to the end and you must not miss any night actions.

    OK status of this game:

Looking good! We have enough people to make the game technically viable, but really, 30 players is where you start to get the appropriate level of cover for certain roles to hide in for a while, 30 players allows 7 to 10 competing groups to perform every night, and 30 players gives the game enough depth where people will feel free to take some risks and make deals with unsavory types to boost their standings.

Think of it this way: a chessboard has 64 tiles. If it had half that amount, it wouldn't be as deep a game. Or as interesting.

30 is where the game starts to take off, and 30 is where we can absorb the inevitable inactive player or two. Hopefully it won't go further than that in terms of inactivity.

Now, I have gotten to the point where I've finally fleshed out all the rules and mechanics and consulted with GeneralHankerchief regarding game balance, and to get a second set of eyes on this one.

I'm prepared to start writing them all down and when I open the game thread, I'll be posting the game rules and information at the top, so you can all easily find it.

What I'm working on right now is adding items and tossing items. I want the items to be interesting, useful, not game breaking, and I want them to make sense in-universe.

Every character in the game is already designed. I do need to write the role PMs but I won't do that until I have full sign ups.

I will post a sample role PM for everyone soon, so you get an idea of what you're working with.

I've also sent out another round of invites on this forum and others, and posted a link to the game in my sig. I am pushing hard to get 30. You'll have more fun if I do.
