    Icon4 *RELEASED* White's Of Their Eyes! (Closer Range Mod)

    I have decided to make a sub mod for closer ranged combat and also to be more visually appealing. Soldiers will now only fire when they see the white's of the enemy's eyes.




    I've also added a few tweaks such as:

    . Increasing musket damage to compensate for the shorter ranges.

    . Unlocked all units to be build unlimited times (for those who want 20 puckel gun armies now you can)

    . Reduced unit sizes slightly for a more tactical experiance and less clutter. (Line infantry 200 men / cavalry 80/90 men).

    . Artillery range has been reduced to compensate for the closer ranges.

    Instalation* Extract and copy the files into your data folder and replace with these ones

    (Remember to keep the original files in case you want to switch back!!)

    Removing unit limits there is the possibility of AI spam?

    I've played numeurous campaigns and have never seen the cpu spam 1 perticular unit . They are always mixed.

    Your mod has been added in DME as submod and it will be enabled/disabled automatically from launcher menu. It will be released in next launcher files update. More infos soon. +rep !

    It is released! Since Darth wanted some changes I've released a separate version you can find here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=569929

    Now players should first install this and then the latest updated files of the mod, provided here in your thread. The included version is 1.1. Please now whenever you update your mod files, instruct the players to copy the new updated files in DME/Subs/wotem folder. This will be your mod folder.

    I have checked the mod and although this can be easily installed manually, it can cause problems when used from the launcher because it replaces its core gameplay files without backup.
    The best way to make a submod is not by overwriting completely the DarthMod files but making a mod over it. Also the projectile settings you made will not be available if a user enables lower Smoke Settings (you only edited the default BSM).

    I suggest you make this mod in its own pack, changing only the relative dbs and make it load on top, either by script or by movie type.

    Cool mod idea, I was just reading about William Prescott and his famous "Don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes" moment.

    I just downloaded the new DM patch this morning so I'll try this as well and report any technical issues.

    Does this submod work with 8.01? I tried it and had a couple problems. The unit sizes were not lowered (line infantry was 300) but the range had been reduced. Also, there were still unit limits (playing as thirteen colonies the Hessian line infantry was still limited to 10). Side note: I originally tried the sub mod version without using the launcher and I got the lowered unit sizes, but the range was normal (110). I tried downloading 1.1 in the link provided but it has expired.

    Bah I can't edit my posts for some reason

    EDIT:

    Never-mind, I reverted to vanilla, then back to DME, enabled the mod and it worked. The only problem now is that the launcher won't disable it for some reason .

    I'm using WOTE for Darthmod 8.01 with AUM and Milita units (not AUM) doesn't seem to be affected by the mod... By the way, great work!

    I'm using AUM EMP 3.3 with this submod and it appears some units aren't affected i counted 6 units for Great Britain that have the default 100/110 ranges while the rest are around 55/60/the odd 30.
    I dunno how to edit the ranges of individual units but ill try to set aside some time to make a list with all the units that have the default ranges.
