Default The Taillefers' Small Room within the Royal Castle

    The Taillefers

A small room, with two beds somehow fit into it, and a writing desk to the side.
Lots of parchment, both crumpled and flat, is about the room, thrown onto floor and furniture alike.

    Family History
Descended from the quasi-famous ioglere who killed an English warrior in a duel before the Battle of Hastings,
the Taillefers are a family considered of knightly status. They have recently arrived in England, no longer able to live in their ancestral home in Normandy.
Like their ancestor, the Taillefers have a flair for prose and song.

Recently accepted into England's royal court in patronage, they live in the King's Castle in London.

    Characters
    Humphrey Taillefer, born 1124 AD
    Age: 44
    Heritage: Norman
    Rank: Freedman
A widow, failed farmer, and debt-collector, the jocular Humphrey keeps his family's scholarly tradition alive.

    Roland Taillefer, born 1150 AD
    Age: 18
    Heritage: Norman
    Rank: Squire
The young son of Humphrey, Roland has already begun to read through his father's collection of books and parchments, studying old songs and literature alike. He's an introverted boy, yet not shy, and dreams of chivalry.
