    Default Several questions

First off let me say agin how much I love this mod. I play 6.4 BGR V, parmanent watchtowers dont remember which AI, now for a few ?'s

    Question:

    1. How do I prevent my priests from becoming heretics? I had a massive problem with this last campaign. I am curious about heretics in general. Does anyone know why they spawn, or is it completely random? Does your papal standing have anything to do with it?

Just to vent a bit I recruited a priest in a settlement with a master theologians guild, and an abbey and he literally walked out of the city that turn as a heretic. I was absolutely furious!!

    2. What are the easisest ways to gain chivalry beyond lowering taxes? I know if you release prisoners you gain chivalry, so are there tactics and strategies to gain chiavalry faster? Also I think I heard if you end the battle versus clicking continue you gain chivalry, do you gain chivalry from doing this once or do you have to do it a bunch? Can someone please elaborate?

I only ever occupy settlements yet I have never had a general above 4 chivalry.

    3. How important are libraries and schools for your characters? How do they work, like is there a time frame you have to gain a benefit from these buildings, or can you move some 60 yr old general in and teach him arithmatic? Also do these buildings benefit priests and diplomats, or just generals? I wish there was a guide on all this, but every one I see is so very vague. Thanks a ton guys!!!

    1. I believe it is random. To prevent them from becoming heretics, use your cardinals as they cannot turn into heretics. Heretics get a massive boost in this mod.

2.Chivalry is all up to how you play the general. "Chivalrous" tactics like charging head on and things like that. Other than that, I really don't know, as my generals are usually chivalrous anyways.

    3. Yes. I don't think there is an age limit for learning. They give your generals/family members a good boost to their stats. I think only they get affected, not diplos or priests.

Anyone feel free to correct me.

The fact that you are playing BGR V means you get massive amounts of penalties on most things including traits, i suggest you check out the BGR manual in the BRG thread which is in the submod section .

    1) Random...or maybe has to do with the level of heretics already in the region

2)What you do during battle is irrelevant. Is what you do after that matters.DC53 i quite sure head-charge or not doesn't matter.Release prisoners and occupy cities and that's it.
    I play BGR V and at 50 turns i have a 7 chivalry general

3)In general what DC53 said would be correct and to add you would probably gain some nice ancillary(retinue) that would increase your skills. In BGR V all non BGR ancillary have been removed so things are different so i think they don't matter so much any more.To be sure ask Byg in his BGR thread

A tiny quasi-cheat for those fed up with heretics would be to watch the independent turn (last) of the AI turns carefully to see if any of your priests have turned heretics. If that is the case hit escape quickly, reload your autosave and move any of your units before ending the turn again. You can even make sure you can see most of your priests in the window when you end the turn to be able to do this in the beginning of the AI turns.

Do not reload...games are more interesting if you can not predict what will happen in the next turn

Indeed. Anyways I just crush heretics I can't execute with the weight of Senor Lopez.

Rep is something we all have, some people just need a little longer to realise that they can actually make the world a better place by spending some of their rep. Rep is natural, it's that smell when you open a new book! It's that feeling when you drive away from the car dealer in your first car. Rep is happiness, rep is love!

Nah, just kidding, it's that little green + button under someone's avatar.
