Default How should i vet my 150 range black bears?

Just recently got 2 black bears to vet lvl 9 and wanted them to have 150 range. How should i vet them?

    My way: 4 reload, 2-3 accuracy, 1-2 Moral, ammunition + 150
Over all, it is probably not worth it.

there are only 2 normal and 1 clan slot for accurary and upgrade so thats 6. Meaning i need 2 more. Morale is only a clan upgrade so thats not viable as you need 8 other skills to use it. SO what other thing should i upgrade with two left (that makes 8 the required number for range)

Why it wouldn't be worth it? Having few extra 150' range bears is always nice to have, never know when you gonna need them. Some maps love long rangers.

    I checked out mine BB150 - 3 reload, 3 acc, suppression, ammo, 150.

Honestly, can't remember, when was last time I used them. I do occasionally bring 2 marines to the field (Rice field it is), but 3 150 range units - too expensive.
And if a really want non-marines 150 (hypothetically), 150 range Imperial Infantry would be better choice.

imp inf (with above upgrades) - 1540
    white bears - 1380
    black bears - 1430

Also for imperial clans 2acc, 2rld, suprression and speed + melee defense makes for 1320 koku unit which may be useful to have at some point. It takes a smaller amount of clan points to vet and sometimes the 50-70 koku difference is the only thing that holds you back from taking 150 range unit.

I believe, that when you go above 1k for a unit, it have to be absolutely deadly.
Even Imperial infantry barely pass, bears just not deadly enough for their cost. In my experience.

Of course, it all highly depends on preferred play-style.

Vermilion Bird force costs 1k and in fact is not very deadly on it's own. But mixed together with Black Tortoise and/or spear levy, katana kachi they tend to perform very well due to the morale aura.

Black tortoise force could be used here as a starting point (being the cheapest cost-efficient line unit) so BT+SL=1080 and 2BT=1320. So in this case we can always theoretically compare how would a unit perform against it's BT (and SL) koku equivalent. Based on this calculation my leveling option is the same as 2BT which again in theory is viable because 1320 WB would win over 2BT with suppression fire activated at the right time. Of course as always with this game it's not that simple just because of LoS and angle of approach but it gives you a starting point for experimenting with different leveling options.

That last paragraph was not really intended for you because you know this already but as a basic frame for players who want to work on their own play-style.

In theory, yes But I still struggle to compose an army that would put 150 range WB to a good use.
I have seen MypzuK using 3x150 range + 5 strong cav core with a great success, so it is working in good hands, but on most of the maps, it feels a bit weak against more meaty compositions.

I mean, it is easy to incorporate one marine unit into almost any composition and make that marine unit do well consistently, but if you take additional 150s, you have less support and more expensive targets for your opponents artillery/cavalry.
On the other hand, I see tournament level games in my mind, which isn't a good representation of what is happening on MM.

Well it serves as threat to normal linies, it can outrange ant plainly outshoot almost all of them (having improved stats) so it's all about the map and deployment plan. I sometimes bring marine + 150' bear to wide maps, 6 line infantry altogether, having 2 150 rangers increases shooting ark of your wide thin formation formidably. Other side has to fall back or advance under fire, coming in range of other units. It's more tactical then combat decision.

As a practical example for side topic of a thread - game between me and PrussianPrince in second group stage of Aggony 1v1 Championship, where he uses 4 very strong and expensive 150 range units.

There are more examples on a tournament, like match between Psychic and Miv, but I didn't cast them yet.
