    Default Something cool I've noticed

Watching the trailer, It seems that not only is the Carthage we see visibly affected by the lengthy siege, but it's also changed in other ways. Take the most recent screenshot in the Stickied thread. In the trailer, there are a bunch of Carthaginian ships sunk in the harbour, which is awesome, and in the picture they're actively moving around the cleaner and un-destructed port. The screenshot therefore is either from an earlier stage of the 146BCE siege, or is of what the city would look like in the campaign. If this makes it to the release as an actual feature, this has got to be one of the coolest little things to be included thus far.

I don't think the 10 minute video is the entire battle. In one screenshot you see a roman ship ramming a carthaginian. It looks like they've cut the naval battle part, and also the "later" part of the land battle(in one screenshot you see Scipio standing "on top" of Carthage looking down on the city)

It would be really cool if for really big cities you had the option of taking out certain parts of the city on certain turns, IE: take out Carthage's navy and let them suffer for a few turns and then assault the first wall, and then a couple turns later assault the last bastion of defense.

you just gave me sort of idea, It would be to say at least interesting since they said that when you attack/siege a city have several capture points, and I have said before that for me it seems it will be very hard to look the whole battle and what is going on since battles will be massive, that you have sort of mini battles for multiple capture points rather then have one huge battle ( naval and land) and to see whats going on, I mean thats simply impossible, from what I have seen from trailer.

I mean I never pause during battle, but from what I have seen which such huge city and a lot of units, for me it seems it will be impossible to keep everything under control and battles would last for very very long time, so this way it would be "easyer" to have it splited in few mini battles or per turns something like that.

to the above posts: Sure, these are good points, but do you really think they'll be in the game?
I Think not. That naval ramming picture surely has NOTHING to do with the siege - necessarily. Besides, in that smokey intro to the video, the dialogue is talking about how the siege has been going on for too long, so i'm sure the initial assault and besieging isn't part of the game scenario. I could be wrong, but realistically, i'm pretty sure what I said in the OP makes more sense. Otherwise it's almost like a mini campaign. If only

and guys, keep in mind that a turn is about a year (atleast in rome it is) so he's saying "this siege has gone too long" means the player playing as scipio has been maintaining the siege for a long arse time

An intresting note OP, however I would first want to know the reaction from CA about this before I go over-reacting . What I think is as followed, I really liked the idea of an longer siege. Not just one battle, like you state but an longer siege way of multiple months or years.

This incude: If you destroy a part of the wall in the first, failed assault on the city you see this, and could use this in your advantace in the next stadium of your assault. Same with other structures and gates for example. I really like the boat thing but agree with second poster LockCaps

This seems the right analyses to me. Good for noting by you OP tough
