Default Gauls and roads been fixed?

    Hi there!

The last time I played RTR VII was back right after it was released. Back then my roman campaign grinded to a halt, because I had three full stacks of gauls coming over the alps every two turns. I reported it via this forum (along with the fact that all of gaul was united very fast, and had roman-level roads) and I got the impression someone agreed with me. (As in, this was a problem and not simply my one game going nuts).

I just wanted to know if this has been fixed now, or altered? I can't see anything in the changelog, but then again I can't find the threads for all the fixes since then.

RTR VII is awesome, and I will likely play it again nonetheless, but the gaul-thingy was rather much of a turn-down... it's simply not fun to play the same siege every four turns for 40 turns...

Maybe I'll go for a Sparta game if it's not been looked into yet.

    Anyway, cheers!

    - Dan

Awww, don't go for Sparta, everyone does!

How long ago did this happen?

I haven't actually heard many such complaints. There have been some complaints at the Gauls having too many ambacti, but most people seem to be ok with their expansion rate.

Wouldn't it be awesome if Rome II: Total War had a class system. The idea being that each city has a population of poor, middle, and upper class and depending on the troop type you are recruiting you are either able or unable to recruit it.

Uhm, nice idea, but I'm not entirely sure that this is the right thread to discuss it?

Sorry, I meant that if you had something like that in Rome: Total War then you couldn't stack elite units like Ambacti as easily. Nor could the AI.
