LG P-970 Optimus

Hi, and thank you in advance. So, last christmas i bought myself a new phone, an LG P-970 Optimus. It works just fine for me, except when using internet apps, like Tapatalk for forums, and a football news checker. Every time i open those apps, they work for about 10 minutes and then force-close on me. This also sometimes happens to my front page. I don't know if this is normal, but i do know it's pretty annoying. I have the Android 2.3 firmware.

So my question is, is this normal, and if not, what can i do about it? Thanks.

Back up all your contacts and reset your phone to factory defaults. It will erase everything though, so just be sure to backup what you need.

Is that the only way? I'd prefer something less radical

Probably not, but it's the only way I know of lol. Alternately you could contact your provider, or LG, and see what they say. They'll probably tell you to do the same, and if that doesn't work, send your phone back.

Factory resetting was always the solution for me with my previous phone the Droid X. It will not delete anything on the SD card like pictures,music and videos so you really will only lose your installed applications and contacts if you do not back those up.
