Default Possible Virus or Network Problem

Hi, every time i go onto the official poltical brits thread, i get a small login box to a website called exchange.ise. I entered it into a web address bar, but i had no username and password, so i clicked cancel and it went to a page called access denied.

Is this a virus, network or some other problem? What should i do?

    Thanks.

To the website? Yes i copied it from the login thing.

Edit: I copied this from the Authentification thing "A username and password are being requested by https://exchange.lse.ac.uk. The site says: "exchange.lse.ac.uk".

    Does this say anything?

Well that looks like the London School of Economics mail server which is why it wants a password, the point Irishron meant, was which link did you click?

I copied the first one to the address bar and entered it. The authentication login came up randomly while i was on Alternate History.com, there was no links in that particular thread and i didn't click on any (i never do).

What thread were you clicking on in Alternate History?

Someone who posted on that page in that thread could have this link in their sig.

It was the official british politics discussion in the chat thread, which can only be accessed by members, no one has it a sig, at least on that page. So, could i have a virus or network problem?

I tried your link and got the same username/password box.

I reported it to the rest of the Moderation crew. Possibly one of them has a better answer than I do.

    Thank you, it's appreciated.

I am still wondering why it pops up in a random thread, just that single thread. But thanks for the help.

I got another problem, namely my anti-virus saw this as a virus:

    C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe /q /c rmdir /s /q "C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\SkyDrive\16.4.6003.0710\amd64"

I don't think it is a virus though, can someone tell me ASAP whether it is or not?

    Thanks.

    I have AMD64 drivers on my harddrive because of having a AMD64 cpu. It's a false-positive.

    What antivirus are you using?

    What does false-positive mean?

Also, it was the IO Bit Malware Fighter that detected it. It asked whether i wanted to allow or block, i chose block.

Also, would you advise Norton as a decent Anti-Virus?

I haven't tried IO Bit's version but I got rid of Norton about 7 years ago. It can still be too anal at times.
IO Bit could be right and I'm wrong. It would not be the first and I doubt the last.
I just check my harddrive and I have no SkyDrive subfolder.
Keep it blocked unless we can find out otherwise.

Does IO Bit give the name of the program giving this command? I'd like to trace it if I could.

A false- postive is whne a program like this flags a program as a virus like this one but the program is good. The free version of AVG was diong this to the kingdoms.exe last year.

Did that anti-virus program save a log file anywhere? If so you can post the contents here and we can take a look at it.
