Campus Martius

[Pontifex Maximus]

The Campus Martius is the area where the Consuls will call the levy. Responding centuries will gather. It is possible for anyone to register in the levy, but commissions are granted at the discretion of the Consuls. Once granted, rank cannot be revoked. Consuls may hold a levy at any time and draw any number of troops desired up to the maximum

Lucius Horatius Tiberinus, Consul of Rome, arrives at the levy location. He examines the rosters and numbers for both Rome and Ostia. He strokes his smooth chin slightly before writing down orders which he gave to two riders...one departed for Ostia and the other back to Rome.

Rome: 6,000 light infantry, 9,500 heavy infantry, 900 cavalry
Ostia: 1,000 light infantry, 1,500 heavy infantry, 100 cavalry

Lucius then heads off to dress himself for the march ahead. He awaited news of the levies that would be arriving soon.

OOC: Also you may die in battle. Chances going up if Rome loses. You may be captured and ransomed. However, if Rome wins, you may loot a piece of armor if the rolls favor you. You need to own a horse to be part of the Cavalry.

He entered and bowed his head, after that he said

My name is Marcus Camillus Tullius, Consul. I believe we have seen each other before in the Curia

Ah yes, Tullius. I do remember you speaking before I left.

The Consul now stands up as his eyes look upon the Roman before him.

What brings you to my attention on the eve of a march?

I wish to join you against the Volscii, as an infantry commander, Consul.

[Lucius Malfoy]

Lucius ponders some before speaking with one of the senior commanders who gives him a roster. He checks it silently before looking at Tullius.

You are in luck. One of the Century's commanders has become ill on the eve of battle...you shall command his century. Report to Northern camp, third circle. You will be commanding 100 men of Hostilius' Century during this campaign.

Titus arrives at the Campus martius looking for the Consul in charge of the Levy, he seeks to become a commander of Infantry.

Titus is shown the command tent as the drums were being played for the final hours before the march. Lucius stood in full military regalia as his eyes looked to Titus.

Salve Roman. What is your name? I know your face from the Curia, but not your name.

Titus Caecus Servius, Sir. I have come in hopes of obtaining a command in the military movement on the Volscii.

Then let it be so. Take over a century from one of the camps belonging to the soldiers from Ostia.

Lucius immediately grabs his helmet and leaves the tent now. He mounts his steed as the drums and horns of marching were made. 19,000 troops and 1,000 cavalry fell into marching formations and began their march southeast for their Volscii enemy.

Titus took command of the Ostian Century and began marching at it's head with the rest of the army.

The Roman army returns home and the levies disbanded under Consul Tiberinus' orders. He then leaves the Campis Martius after changing back into his toga.

Titus follows suit, wishing each man within his Century well and thanking each of them for their bravery, then he headed back to the Curia in hopes that he missed nothing important.
