a friend made me aware that one thing in the genious Carthage video is weird:

they came with ships landed on the shores and soon later they had massive wooden siege tower.

THIS MUST BE A SECRET WEAPON! vae victis!

Folding siege towers carried on ships amazing stuff!

do not take it serious: he said this siege is going on for several years...

btw: the cheer of the leader "prepare for battle" in the siege tower remembers me kinda Saving Private Ryan opening. Cool stuff CA!

Pretty sure the towers were on the beach while the ships were still at sea, you see them when the camera is first panning around I believe. Could be wrong though.

Yes. The sieges has already been going for some time and the siege towers are already there, not from the ships.

They explained in the video that the siege had been going for years already, so those walls and towers were already there. Those were just fresh troops preparing for the assault.

I was actually wondering how much of the army was already at Carthage to prepare the towers and everything, all I saw were a bunch of archers. The game looked very good for "pre-pre alpha" though, and with that 40% budget increase we might just get somewhere by the second half of 2013. I don't get excited for videogames that much any more, but I wonder exactly what CA has in store for us. Here is hoping for the same revolutionary feel that Rome 1 had all those years ago.
