James had - as acting headmaster - been able to arrange the timetables so that he was able to teach both Charms and Transfiguration. Now it was hardly any secret - at least amoung the staff anyway - that he was hardly competent at anything other than charming. But the students needed teaching, and as noone more capable had stepped up it was down to him. He'd had to spend considerable amount of time figuring out how to teach the class - extensive notes left by Roman Hernandez had at least helped - but he thought he would be able to do it. Maybe not to the standard the children deserved, but too a far better degree than they would otherwise get. Following his charms start, he writes on the board.

Further more the spells Reparifarge, Evanecso, and Ducklifors will be featured prominently in studies. It is recommenced that students take to to familiarise themselves with the spells, their uses and the theory of practice. If not necessarily master it - practising outside of supervision is discouraged until a certain familiarity with the spells is achieved.
