Default Want my general to do the right thing

My leading 4 star general who has blazed through the campaign now has a loyalty rating if 1. I want him to do the right thing and end his life before he takes his huge army with him. I don't see that option anywhere. Please advise how this treacherous bastard can take care of himself ?

    Many thanks.

Click on his portrait and press the disband button in the bottom left. He will commit seppuku.
Though im not too sure if there is a chance of refusal and hence immediate betrayal.
Alternatively, have him heroically sacrifice himself by charging into a bunch of spears

Hmmm I like the way you think it safer to remove his army from him first and send him with his treacherous guards to fight an unwinnable battle Amazing that I adopted him and even made him inspector general but his disillusionment of grandeur did him in. Anything I could have done to keep his sorry ass more loyal to the clan? Also would a brainwash session with my star shin shinashi ( wtf you spell it )work to bring him around ? Maybe lock the two together on a boat for a few turns ?

Careful with ordering him to commit seppuku with such a low honour, he much the to honourless to even do that and just defect... happened to me once..

if you still want to keep him you could search the tech that gives loyalty to all generals and the one that gives honor to your damyio and those should help and if you still got points to upgrade your general you should spend it on the one that gives him more loyalty

You can on the other hand try to get more honor for your daimyo (tea ceremony, vassaling, heroic victories) or/and get the loyalty art or honor talents for your daimyo or loyalty talent for your 4 star general.

would be sad to loose him no?

For seppuku just move him out of the army to somewhere remote. preferably in enemy territory. Select his unit then click the disband unit button (tattered white banner icon) around the unit/castle UI bottom left corner of your screen. Seppuku gives +1 honor no?

If thats to brutal, have him board a trade ship and sail to the blue yonder. he wont defect and will die to attrition

If your general has more command stars than your daimyo, he will start to lose loyalty (I think -1 loyalty per command star more than your Daimyo.)

thats what costed me my best general on my first campaign. I thought "ill keep my dyamio safe in his home province, and let others do the fighting".

Yeah, I learned that lesson the hard way...

Yeah he was a bit too big for how own good. I never thought about the fact that if had more stars than the daimyo he'd start to get disloyal. Good point.
Well it's a moot point now. I tried to get him on a solitary gunboat with my star shinashinshi to "re-educate" him in the ways of our clan but unfortunately his boat and stars are now at the bottom of the ocean thanks to an enemy warship.

    Oh well ...

I think you can use a metsuke to increase the loyalty of your genera, never tried that myself.

I lost my 5 star general and my elite stack right in front of Kyoto, because of that little thing.

Depending on how much you can increase loyalty, it might be best to guard him with an army or spears, and get honour/loyalty up and then carry on using him. In general, I'll leave loyalty-3 or below generals in provinces if I can, and only take them out when I need a battle to be won. try adopting him if you have no brothers or sons of age and getting retainers to increase loyalty/the skills that increase it

Remember the old adage "The king who leads from his castle is rarely a king for long.". Take your daiymo out and do a few provinces, set up some vassals, build up your honour and leadership. If you're particularly attached to that general, you might adopt him into the clan, but be careful. That can backfire if your other generals are similarly untrustworthy.

I generally recommend against creating vassals, only if you really need the additional honour (cause you converted to christianity for example). Once realm divide hits, your vassals turn on you, opening up a front in the middle of your territories

After RD, though, feel free to vassalize as much as you want. They don't get the diplomatic penalties.

You can also just load him onto a trade ship and scupper the ship. He will die. Did this on accident one time when I was switching around fleets and my faction heir ended up on the wrong ships and went to the bottom of the sea...
