We will go for a visceral feel, as that is very realist, but as far as saving private ryan goes, it will probably only be there when appropriate, which was very rarely. We will defiantly get rid of camera shake, as that is kinda annoying.

Ok guys, the research that is extremely active at this time is on all the Hellenes, the Celts, the Romans (and soon all Italians), the Carthaginians, all the other Africans, and the Indian discussion is just starting up
So, if you guys think you can help out, feel free to contact me or Chosen Man.
Otherwise, if you specialise in another field, feel free to contact us as well and start the research on whatever you want![]()

We have guys for rome, carthage, and the celts, but non for the greeks or macedon so far. We will take anyone, but we are especaly looking for people to help reasearch them.
Do you have any concepts for logistics (army supply routes, food levels, etc.)?
Are you aware of any mods for any TW game that incorporated these elements? Were they well-received?
there's the grim reality submod for stainless steel and i think it's popular despite how hardcore it is.
all hail the flying spaghetti monster!
shouldn't have started this so early ..
I'm not sure I would ever like this. If you're going to destroy gameplay for accuracy you can say goodbye to your audience. You have to make a compromise so one faction doesn't always dominate the map every game.
You mean just like EB or RTR (just to give a few examples) replace a gameplay with overpower Roman unit with a interesting gameplay for every faction ?
Or it is simply to repeat "gameplay come over realism ?
Anyway it is a mod for a game. Not a game on its own. So as long as some people are motivated to work on it and a small base of fan supporting it it will be fine. There is no need to look for an audience in modding.

Ok, well firstly we would have to wait and see if CA has included any such features (unlikely, but still). If not, then we would have to study the game engine, the scripting languages possibilities regarding the game engine, then find a way to implement such a feature.
It would be great to include an army supply feature (probably won’t have supply lines though, just supply, but again we will have to wait and see about this). We have not began thinking of this feature just yet, because our member that are most familiar with the warscape engine are currently busy with research. After some of the research has been lifted off his shoulders, then we will be able to begin a much greater variety of concepts for features you have noted.
See first post, good research takes a lot of time.
Ok, firstly, there are people that enjoy historical realism over gameplay, like myself, so we will always have an audience, whether you're in that audience or not is a different thing. Secondly, we will be making few compromises, but probably not what you are expecting. We’re also going to be adding a heap of “what if” factors to the game that makes Total War so great. I’ve course, some factions will be underpowered compared to others, but that is what it was actually like, and where not going to give that faction a fantasy boost just for gameplay. I can assure you, there will not be always the 1 team steamrolling through every campaign.
Excellent. Nice to see mod teams organizing. These pre-release mods tend not to persevere, but we can certainly hope! Fingers crossed guys and good luck!

If people could check out our website and give feedback that would be great. I recently gave it a visual overhaul, and am waiting to see if others like it

Website looks better and I like the 'SPQR' graphic- still lacking in colour, would be nice to see some blood red in there, I still love the look of RTW loading screens, the red with silhouetted images, best loading screens of all TW games that I've seen.
One little thing, I think that you should make up your minds whether it's 'Imperia Antiquitas' or 'Imperia Antiquitatis' ( maybe this is because you're a republic, you should elect a dictator)

It's 'Imperia Antiquitatis', but Chosen Man isn't online right now to change the name of it on this thread
And thanks for the feedback.
Which web browser do you use? I have Chrome, and I'm just wondering if the website works on others eg. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.
