End of the Road

Hey guys, as some of you are aware, or no doubt noticed over the past couple of months, my activity has slowly decreased over time, especially in the last few weeks since starting at University. I've been extremely busy.

Some of you may have noticed that a few weeks ago I resigned as a site moderator due to my lack of time. I was hoping I'd be able to have just enough to continue managing here but that hasn't exactly worked out as planned.

It's been on my mind for a while now to resign as manager of these competitions and hand over to someone else to inject some fresh ideas, enthusiasm and spirit that I once had when I originally started managing these competitions over two years ago. I feel quite guilty for not handing it over sooner as this place deserves some good care.

Anyway, enough about little old me. I'd just like to thank everyone for competing in the competitions while I was manager. Especially those of you who have consistently competed over the years. A special mention to everyone who took part and voted during the several special competitions I ran as well. You've all been great and kept this area of TWC alive.

Fortunately, Goofy came along and volunteered to take the position from me a couple of weeks ago. He's a nice chap and I'm sure he'll do a great job at managing the competitions as my replacement.

I'll be remaining in my position for at least a month or so just to ensure the management is stable and to act as a temporary backup if a situation arises.

Please welcome and congratulate Gooby as the new manager of the competitions. It was very kind of him to volunteer.

I remember the day when you started to be active again on the forums, the days when you often took part in the competitions with those spectacular shots and the day when you was finally appointed to be the host of the competitions. It does not feel to be that long time ago. Time flies...

Also, kudos to my friend Goofy to have the honor to continue this task after N. Rush (back then he was known as Gaius Baltar), Legio and Lulu. They all did great job and I am sure you will do as well. I admit I was a bit surprised hearing your name - I guess I have not seen you too often in this part of TWC arts.

Thanks for all the years of hard work, Lewis; it will be difficult for me to step in your shoes. I'll do the best I can to keep the forum alive and run the competitions, respecting the traditions we have here.

As to why I am here - it is largely about seeking new challenges. It is true that I haven't participated these competitions actively at all, particularly during the last two years or so. However, I have been checking things around every now and then, and therefore I am on track as to how things are done here. Since Lewis lacks the time to keep things still running here, and I think I have it, I thought to offer my help which Lewis has generously accepted.

Wait - so Nicholas Rush is Gaius Baltar? I do remember him from the time when I was new here. I've been wondering where and how Gaius disappeared, but what you just said really makes sense. I never realised they're the same person.
