Medieval total war 2 encountered an unspecified error
Hi,
I recently purchased a copy of Medieval 2 Total War off of amazon.com. I received the CDs earlier this week and installed them. When I tried to run the game, at launch I get a message stating "Total War has encountered an unspecified error and will now close."
Reading up on some of the threads, I thought the problem might be due to some old Medieval 2 files from 2 years ago, when I'd installed the game on my computer without running into any problems. I thought maybe some of these files hadn't been uninstalled properly, so I uninstalled the entire game, including all mods (I'd installed the Third Age mod), all patches, and ran a comprehensive search of my computer to find any old files that might have "total war" "tw," "battle," etc in the name.
Did that, then reinstalled the game, only using the basic version of the game, no kingdoms nor third age. But even when I try to launch the basic version of the game, I still get the same "unspecified error" message at launch.
Can anyone help?
My computer is running on Windows XP, the model is an AMD Athlong 64 processor 3000+, 2 GhZ. I am attaching the DxDiag (see attachment). Could anyone help?
Much appreciated, Mormegil-

Install the motherboard drivers and the graphics drivers. The graphics card/chip is not even showing up in th dxdiag and the game won't start without them.
