Default yahoo mail account - a junk mail service's dream

I don't know if any of you have a yahoo mail account. i do, and I have been using one of my email address there for the last 5 years.

Let me tell you, they suck. They talk about so proudly about their "junk mail control" which really does absolutely nothing. I'm getting about 20 mails per day and 19 of those are junkmails. Basically yahoo has contracts with several web companies and services and it refuses to put them into the junk mail filter, no matter what you do. They even say it in one of their policies.

I'm just fed up with them. I hate yahoo and their entire system.
unfortunately I will need to contact several people who only know my yahoo email address (almost like 70 people) because I'm ready to quit using their service.

any good webmail provider that can be trusted nowadays?

I use my yahoo email address for post reports from this forum. Add to that a convenient mail notifier extention for firefox and you have a very effecient moderating ally.

Keeping that in mind, I really don't get much junk mail in my Yahoo Mail. You've probably given your email address to too many different websites. The best solution I've come up with is to utilize two different email accounts. One for real emails, the address of which you give out only to trusted websites and people you know; and the other account for junk mail, the address of which you give out to areas which you suspect will give you a spam head-ache.

And thus I also have hotmail...which gets filled with junk-mail all the time.

Gmail! Google can be trusted. I get a little spam every once in a while (stock information hidden in pictures with semi-legitimate titles, but I get the feeling they will be gone soon) but generally it is a solid service with a good interface. And with 2700 MB of space (and counting) you don't have to worry about room. I'll send you an invite.

Edit: You're email isn't on your profile, so I'll wait for a PM or you could post your email address.

Oh, HG, I would, I really would, but I used all mine up already!

There's very easy to find, and I've actually seen a few accounts going in forums after a routine google search for "g-mail invite"

AOHell is the worst service provider. They are expensive, still use dial-up, do not let you remove all of their software, and allow lots of spam and malware to be put on your computer. There are plenty of cheaper, safer, and faster alternatives.

    I've already got an invite.

Besides, do you get something if you invite people?

Yes, but mine are better because they're from me.
