The fat crier normally stands in the center of the Forum down the street from the Temple of Saturn. As a former actor, the crier's voice carries throughout the forum as he reads off daily bulletins of importance. Senators could also request that the crier read advertisements, statements, or make public announcements.

Therefore, in two days time, the quaestors of this year, Valerius and Lucullus will be taking bids by material suppliers of marble and lead in the Temple of Saturn. A bid will also need to be placed for the builders themselves. "
