Best way to vet foreign elite units?

Hello everybody!

Was wondering what's the best way to vet the foreign elite units (USA Marines, french units etc.)

I upgraded 2 accuracy and 2 reload skill (the basic ones) but now i dunno how to proced.

Next one is 150 range upgrade. After that you may want to stop - other upgrades will not really make them stronger, but cost will go go up too much.
Lvl 5 french marines with 150 range cost 1710 koku, which is already making me think twice, before taking them to the battle.

Your welcome Foreign marines are the only three units, that can take 150 range upgrade on 5th level.

Yup, lvl 5, no more. Some guys put replenish on US marines but decide if you want it later, much later when you would know exactly what do you need.

I've never understood that bright idea about making the cheapest marine 70 koku more expensive.

good you ask this question early. I messed up my french marines and upgraded to much. they cost 1870 koku and i cant kick them and vet them up again. So you should be absolutely sure if and how you want to go beyond level 5.

To clarify my question was why would you want to make the cheapest marine unit more expensive if you can have "replenish" on Royal marines for that matter, keeping you US marines inexpensive for 10k battles?

Because then you lose 70 koku in each 14k battle, having forced to use more expensive marine, and you play far more 14k battles, then 10k.

If someone is planing to prestige to gold without exploiting it would take way too many 10k battles.

But it becomes an argument based on points of view then of raw facts, I haven't seen the point of taking RM and IdeM together for quite a while - they cost a fortune 70 koku or not.

Sorry to say but imp/shog inf with clan upgrades costs 1540, lvl 5 US marine costs the same with superior stats. Even with replenish it is still more cost effective.

Well just to end this discussion on a middle ground you don't really need any gun troops at all to win at this game.

ya but its easy to beat a melee rush with 3-4 guns. however using the 150 range is only determined by how flat the map is and how much I will be emphasizing my range advantage. Heck 175 range light infantry is nice to have however just how much do you see them being used?

Marines isn't that superior in terms of cost effectiveness compared to Smthg Guard Infantry in 125 range category. In 150 range category they have no competitors though.

Agreed. 99% of ppl vet their foreign units to lvl 5 for a reason.
