    Default Shogun 2 Stone Provinces

How do you guys best take advantage of stone?
Seems a waste not to take advantage of the reduced cost of buildings in the province but in this case the stone is adjacent to my Iron, which would made a better units.

As the Hojo it's always nice to get an extra sale on you're already cheap castles. Otherwise I don't pay that much attention to them. Like you said, Iron is more important. I wouldn't start a war over the stone provinces like I would horses or gold.

What you oculd do is make it a really big province, with high end buildings (like tier 3 markets and suchs). you will save money on the construction, but by the time you get to that art to build them, you should have enough money anyway

I have been giving this some more thought today and think maybe the way to use for the stone would be to identify which strategic resources will not be available any time soon then tailor the stone province to plug that gap.

For example as the Date I have no provinces producing Horses nearby so It therefore makes sense to build the Stables and Proving Grounds Encampment in the stone province, where it will be cheaper as I will have no superior alternative until much later in the game.

If you are a clan with no Iron, I would use Stone as the main Melee province and if there is no Craftwork nearby, you could use it for Archers.
