    Default The Medieval World restart

    Due to knin's absence TMW hasn't been worked on for months and the mod threatened to go to the place where many good mods and ideas have gone to die. Thankfully some of its members where prepared to form up a new team so that the mod will, hopefully, see a major release. The version of the mod we're working on already has way more features than the last publically released but is still pretty far from release, there are lots of things to do and this will take time.

    Because knin is no longer active on this forum () and therefore can't edit the first post of the thread I decided to make a new thread.
    Mod information from the original thread:
    knin's post in the original thread
    Last Updated: 12/27/2011

    Latest Version: TMW 0.4 (10/22/11) - Download here!
    Latest Patch: TMW 0.48 (11/22/2011) - Download here! - requires Version 0.4 to play!

    Attention! The Medieval World: A Kingdoms Mod needs your help! If you're a modeller, skinner, researcher, scripter, coder, or have pretty much any modding talents and are willing to help see this mod release a new version by the end of this year, please don't hesitate to either post in the thread or shoot me a PM.

    The Goal:
    Now that I have the new map up and running, it is time to turn our attention to units, unit recruitment, local flavor, and scripting. Each faction will receive an overhauled unit roster, through a combination of borrowing from other excellent mods like Rusichi and BC, as well as original units created by members of the team. The unit recruitment system will be streamlined and rely on characters and other building trees in order to occur. Scripting will be the last, and most time consuming, aspect of the mod, but it will add a great deal of realism, challenge, and immersion to our finished product.

    Faction List:
    Kingdōm ofe Englaland - Kingdom of England
    Royaume de France- Kingdom of France

    Great I hope it will be so, I wouldn't like to have wasted the little help I gave and will still give if I can.
    Edit: This is just... wrong... Sorry, didn't think what I was writing... too tired
    Now, I hope it will be so, it's a great mod with lots of work done already, it would be a shame to not get to first version. That's more acceptable I think. Now going to sleep at last...

    Thanks for salvaging this project. It would have been a shame to see it go.

    Rus'=Kiev? yup
    Norđvegr Riki=Norway yup
    Royaume de Bourgogne=Burgundy I'm guessing somewhere in the process Burgundy was replaced by Aquitaine, no idea why but this one isn't in
    Kneževina Srbij=Serbia yup
    České království=..Croatia? Bohemia
    Reino d'Aragón=Aragon!
    Sak’art’velos Samep’o=? Georgia
    Rum Selçuklu Devleti=Seljuks? Sultanate of Rum
    Ta'ifa Ishbiliyya=I DONT KNOOOOW Taifa of Sevilla, the muslims in Iberia
    Zīryūn=Dunno Some faction in Tunisia
    Repubblica di Pisa=Pisa! Good job guessing this one
    Kilikio Haykakan Tagavorutyun=Armenia? Yes, or the other weird name is Armenia and this is Georgia, I'm having a hard time with the names too
    Smilie overkill maybe?

    I will add the more understandable names to the OP tomorrow.

    Im pretty sure its Armenia, in Europa Barbarium the Armenians have a name similar to that

    And to say, just translate for the page here XD On one hand, I like the real names of factions in game(not enough for a make or break), on the other hand, half the time I dont know what the heck they are XD

    Kilikio means 'Cilicia', Hayk means 'Armenia', and Tagavorutyun means 'Kingdom', so it's the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia.

    If you guys need any help with research (especially map research), just send me a PM telling me what you'd like me to do, and I'll see if and when I can do it.

    In any case, good luck with the mod!

    Burgundy was replaced by Aquitaine because it was a title held by the Kaiser at the start date and split into many duchies. Aquitaine was a regional power in southern France and gives the player the opportunity to lead an Occitan state instead of a Frankish one. It also fills that gap in the map.
